Worst TV show of all time

True. The only bright spots on that show are Conchatta Farrell and Holland Taylor.

Tom goes to the Mayor

Ditto. It was stupid and offensive, but it was supposed to be stupid and offensive. That was the joke.

I ran across a show called The Middle on ABC the other day. That’s show’s pretty awful. It’s like Malcolm in the Middle, but with anything funny about it removed. Shame on you, Janitor!

I have to agree with Everybody [del]Loves[/del] Loathes Raymond. I would also nominate Married, With Children and pretty much every reality show past, present, and as yet unthought of.

Even as a 10-year-old I thought that My Mother the Car was pure shite. I remember watching a bit with my folks and remarking to them, “This is so stupid. PLEASE can we watch Combat”.

Bad, yes, but it spawned two very good episodes of MST3K.

This drove me away from Adult Swim.

Yes I’m serious. Are YOU serious when you claim P&R is the funniest show on tv? Because I sat through about 5 episodes (yes, I TRIED to give a chance!), and the Tammy Swanson ep was the only one I laughed at all (and even then, it was because of a secondary character who apparently isn’t even on most of the eps). Actually, that was the only episode where I wasn’t completely bored out of my mind for 30 minutes. And why does Rashida Jones hang around the office when she’s supposed to be a nurse?

And for the record, Mad Men isn’t my thing, but I appreciate what it does. And Breaking Bad is just plain brilliant. And the funniest show currently airing is…actually, it might just be Community, now that Party Down’s been cancelled. Go figure.

**Cop Rock **is the answer. I can never figure out how this thing got green-lighted. It was like some guys put together something as a joke and it continued to go up the food chain until it was too late.

Wow that was bad.

And I liked “Hello, Larry” for the same reason as someone up thread. Had a crush on Kim Richards.

I watched it as a kid early Saturday morning as a kid. But I couldn’t remember the title. It was the opening music that as stayed with me all these years. Eating at me.

Now I am descending into the maelstrom of madness as the theme plays as an endless loop in my head.

Thank you Cat’s Whisker.

Mama’s Family and Alf.

This is how I feel about How I Met Your Mother. I’ve seen three episodes and it was so painfully unfunny I felt bad for the cast for being involved with something so stupid.

And yet people who I know are not complete idiots like it.

As hard as it may be to admit, I cannot judge people based on what TV shows they like. It is extremely tempting, though.

The Ropers was an incredibly bad spin-off from Three’s Company. This Time article ranks it #2 on its list of all time worst spin-offs.

This’ll always come down to personal opinion, but I think it’d be possible to make a list of generally-accepted-to-be-truly-awful TV shows. But Malcolm in the Middle? Everybody Loves Raymond? Are these honest opinions about the worst TV show of all time? There’s plenty to criticize, maybe a wealth of stuff to criticize, but come on.

I utterly DESPISE The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother – to the extent that I’d rather spend seven hours getting root canal work done than watch ten minutes of either – but I wouldn’t think of calling these the worst shows of all time.

Complete tangent: Looking up Fuzz Bucket on IMDB, I was amazed to see that Joe Regalbuto from “Murphy Brown”, now bears an uncanny resemblance to Ed Harris.

</tangent>

As a child who loved all things ninja-related. I actually liked “The Master”. It was a terrible, terrible show. But it was not as bas as the American remake of the British show “Men Behaving Badly”. Two words: Rob Schneider.

Edit: Was there ever an earlier version of “Cop Rock” I swear I remember seeing it for the first and only time at my grandmother’s but she would have been dead by 1990.

See? Whaddya I tell you? It’s starting,

“Sometimes I think I’ll settle down…”

Maybe not the worse, since it was a kids show, but I cannot believe that I liked this show when I was little. :o

The most painful show I have ever come across remains Mama’s Family. I suppose it may not be the worst, as there may have been some cornpone spinoff that even more execrable. It was just so far removed from my definition of comedy that I would sometimes watch it in fascination.

The sad part of that is that the segments on the Carol Burnett Show that were the precursor to Mama’s Family were brilliant.

The original was much better.
