Would anyone be up for a Mid-Michigan Dopefest?

So is this a go for the 15th or what?

Or has this died again?

As long as anything doesn’t come up for me, the 15th it is!

No, no, it’s not dead, it’s pining!
The 15th is great for me, how do we keep this thing moving w/o gratuitously bumping it every day? How do we let other Michiganders and some of the borderline OH and ONs about the plans? Is it gauche to email them? Do we just expect them to wander by the thread out of curiosity?

ok, the 15th.

Where at?

15th of what?

I’d be able to make it, just would need somebody to come pick my driver-liscenceless tail up and take me down to Lansing.

January, tovarisch Popov.

right January got it. I think I can swing that. Lansing right? I’ll need some more info and find a ride because I too do not have a license. I am definatly down with the dopefest.

Tsarina, restaurants? Something on a main road, perhaps?

New Year’s Eve bump

RickQ and I can probably make it on 1/15. A restaurant on the main road and good directions would be greatly appreciated.

Well, both of the restaurants tsarina mentioned on the first page (Omi and SanSu) are located on main roads. However, Omi is closed from 2:30 to 5:30 each day, so that might pose complications. (When do people want to meet, anyway?) Additionally, SanSu has the added advantage for me of being less than 5 minutes from my apartment. So, that’s where my vote lies. If that’s okay with everyone, please reply and I’ll post directions.

That’s a good question; do we want to do a late lunch, early dinner, or something later? I’m available for any and all, so why don’t I throw out 4 pm as a starting point and you all throw some thoughts back. .
Both places sound great, Sansu looks easy to find on this map, it’s in Hannah Plaza, right?

Map O’East Lansing restaurants…
Looks like it was put together for those not familiar w/ the area…how handy! Is it known whether this place is non-smoking and/or has a liquor license? Will we need to be concerned for under age 18 Dopers? (I’m 34, just trying to be accomodating.)

Yes, it’s in the Hannah Plaza. One other note about the map: all the “construction roadblocks” are no longer blocked. So, if anyone’s coming from I-96 I’d suggest either taking the Okemos exit (110) to Jolly Rd., and taking that to Hagadorn, or taking exit 106 (I think) onto Northbound US-127 to the Trowbridge exit (only 2 miles or so), then following Service Rd. across campus.

If anyone needs more specific instructions, I belive my e-mail is in my profile. Oh, and 4:00 sounds good to me.

I think I can make it providing that the weather isn’t too terrible and my car is running. :smack: I’m not used to all of this snow and ice stuff, so if it’s snowing I ain’t drivin’. What kind of food is this Sansu place? Is that where we are planning on eating?

4:00 at SanSu, January 15th. It’s a date! It serves Japanese food and has a really good liquor selection, and some good Japanese beers and sake.

Are we still up for getting ice cream at Cold Stone afterward for ice cream? We’ll have to drive to the north edge of campus, but I think it’ll be worth it.

I’m all about some ice cream. I don’t know much about Japanese food so you’ll have to pick something out for me.

Well I don’t do sushi or shashimi but the tempura and terriyaki sound good.

Ice cream probably wouldn’t work for me, but I’ll tag along.

Just gotta convince the Mrs. to go Japanese.

Any Detroiters wanna carpool?

How Detroit are you? I’m in Waterford, just a mile south of M-59 by the Oakland County Airport. (Which is great because I’m one of those dorks that likes to watch planes take off and land!)

BUMP Five days to DopeFest!
