Ooh, good call lorinada! That is the same cat isn’t it? I’m guessing that the puffball collar pic was taken first, since you can still clearly see the dawning madness in his eyes as he realizes that the Universe is fundamentally irrational and malign. By the time they get around to putting the froggie costume on him, his mind has become completely dislocated from reality and is now desensitized to the horror, having totally retreated to his own internal fantasy world. Sort of the kitty equivalent of Jonathan Pryce’s character in Brazil. Poor fellow, he’s probably better off.
One wonders how Confuse-a-Cat (or whatever this outfit is called–probably Happy Fun Cat Noodle or something) went about requesting the massive amounts of kitty tranquilizers that were obviously used here. Can you purchase cat Valium over the counter in Japan, or was there some sort of veterinary supervision? Are there Japanese veterinarians out there who see no problem with anesthetizing cats for the purpose of hawking little novelty costumes? This whole site is profoundly disturbing from an ethical standpoint. I’m not even sure I want to know what any of those captions say.

I put a cape on my boyfriend’s cat, who gave me the a withering look and daintily stepped out of it (I had foolishly made the neck too loose). But one time my strapless bra was lying on the bed and somehow he managed to wrap it around his head so that he was wearing a little bra bonnet. Personally I think the cape was very Harry Potter chic - wearing the bra bonnet was just plain sad. 
I put the blame squarely on the shoulders Gen. MacArthur’s staff, who omitted the following in Chapter III of the Japanese Constitution:

Yes, they are Scottish Folds. Very sweet cats. Totally do not deserve this.
