THIS is an interesting video. Its a Democratic campaign event and a Clinton campaign worker is trying to fire up the crowd for Hillary.
Watch as she starts a chant “When I say Hillary you say FIRE, Hillary,” then an awkward silence as most of the audience ignores her (although some do join in).
So I’d like to ask, if you had been in that audience would you have been doing the “Hillary cheer”?
Personally I thought it was very cheesy and their isnt a politician around where I would have done such hero worship. The audience was probably half or more Sanders people anyways so it probably wasnt the best place for such a cheer.
Yeah, that kind of rah rah stuff is just silly to me. I get the purpose, but I’m not going to vote based on excitement, nor is it necessary for me to be motivated to go out and vote.
I took a look. There’s a reason most people aren’t joining into the call and response.
The person on the sidelines may be saying “Fire” (Fire Hillary) or “Liar” (Hillary Liar) but it doesn’t really matter. They are not a Clinton campaign worker trying to get the crowd all excited.
Consider the source: Alex Jones.
It’s also not clear that it’s even a campaign event.
I am anti-chanting. I hate the “Stephen, Stephen” of Colbert, the stuff they do at political ralies, and even “let’s go Mariners!” No way am I going to yell anything for Hillary, or even against Trump.
I am not a fan of cheering and would not participate, but would not be put off either as long as it isn’t a variety of that hackneyed “hey hey, ho ho, cliched chants have got to go” chant.
The Hillary campaign needs to give up trying to convince people that she’s a really hip, totally with-it, and completely tuned in to young people. They should embrace her as an elderly policy wonk and try to play up the “I’m the adult in the room” persona, rather than running away from it.
