A well-paying job you hate, or a minimum-wage job you love?
I’ve had both, as well as some minimum-wage jobs I hated (but not for long). Life is too short to hate your job, and money can’t buy happiness (although it certainly can rent it for a while), so gimme a job I love and I’ll never “work” a day again.
WYR act or direct?
Direct, but with a strong producer to assist.
WYR have eyes that won’t stop watering, or dry eyes?
I guess the first. I’ll get in the habit of carrying around a handkerchief.
WYR wear a deerstalker or top hat?
Top hat. (I own one, and I don’t own a deerstalker. Who wants to get mistaken for William Gillette? Far better to just visit his old house.)
WYR have loved and lost, or never have loved at all?
I’ve loved and lost many times. I can’t imagine never having loved at all.
WYR be a forest or a street?
Forest, I’ll opt for a living thing every time.
WYR be a hammer than a nail?
Hammer. Once a nail is nailed in, it stays there. Hammers get around
A hammer or a bell?
A bell. Better to make a joyful noise than pound in nails.
WYR be an eagle or a shark?
An eagle. They fly.
WYR be a pet dog or cat?
A cat. Lower expectations and longer lifespan, typically.
WYR see sunshine or moonlight?
Sunshine. As a morning person I love to see the moon fade as the sun rises and I can get on with my day.
Would you rather fell a tree or carry water?
(This is based on a recent experience helping a friend prepare his deer lease)
Carry water. Chopping is hard and I’d rather leave trees standing.
WYR fly down a highway or meander down a country lane?
The country lane for me. Highways can be boring.
WYR fish or cut bait?
Fish, and I prefer lures or live bait.
WYR rather make the meal or clean up after?
Make the meal… I hate cleaning up.
Try a new recipe or stick to the tried-and-true?
New recipe, I’m always coming up with new combos.
WYR drink coffee that’s too strong, or too weak?
Too strong. I always drink dark roast, and you can always add hot water and/or milk to dilute it.
Read a short, boring book or a very long exciting one.
A very long exciting one. I don’t mind plowing through big books if they hook me (as, for instance, Tolkien’s LOTR and Clarke’s *Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell *did).
