Wow, I hate this new format

On mobile, portrait mode - I see thread title & post count. I cannot scroll L/R.
On mobile, landscape mode - I see threat title, post count, & views. I cannot scroll L/R.
On desktop - I see thread title, last post (date/time & by <username hyperlink> post count, view. No need to scroll.

IOW, there is info missing from the mobile version…on two separate browsers. Unless, I check “request desktop site”, which, of course, defeats the purpose of having a mobile friendly site. :smack:
As I stated previously, there is a very, very subtle light grey box around the quote; the line color used to be more pronounced. Can it be darkened like it used to be?

Same here on my desktop. It’s driving me batty. It seems to almost be random, except that indentation seems to be consistent with the same posters. I thought maybe it had to do with the lengths of user names, but some shorter names are further indented to the right than longer names, so I have no idea.

My complaint is I can no longer tell what page of a thread I am on. Before if you had not read a page the numbers were a blue and then turned black as you clicked them. Right now from the outside of a thread the page numbers are blue but once you get inside the thread the page numbers are all black.

Also “View First Unread” took me from Page 1 Post 12 (backed out, tapped back in) to the last post on Page 3. In a thread I had not read. But I think that goes back to the way this board has always worked: marking everything as read once you shut the browser window/tab.

And all of those ads, at every fifth post down the page, are the SAME ad!

From what I can tell, it seems based on the longest line in the join date/location/post count/IM blurb, which is usually the location.

Works if you have a short attention span.

Or short term memory loss.

Or short term memory loss.

How do you change it from Landscape to Portrait? Or is that just a mobile thing?

Dislike it. New font isn’t as easy to read, spacing is weird, etc.

And the ads are really weird. They’re not actual ads (that change) but just an image every five posts so it’s the same ad, forever and ever, which is why the ad blockers don’t block it.

I have an iPhone 6+ in Safari (latest updates installed) and if I’m doing a quick reply and turn the phone sideways the page refreshes and I lose all my text and have to start over.

This post was originally about how I have no problems with the update and it works great on my phone, but that post got eaten by the forum.

OH THE IRONY!

ETA: I just tested with the full reply. Not a problem. Just a problem with the quick reply. The top of the screen says “A problem with this web page occurred and it was refreshed” when switching portrait/landscape modes.

At the very LEAST, get rid of those hardcoded ads. Even if I WANTED a Nexus 7, clicking on the ad does nothing! :smack:

Ironically, it is horrible on my iPhone.

This is a test post.

This is a second test post.

Is reverting to a circa 1995 format an “update”?

Ugh. Don’t like it. Those blue bars are annoying (probably look better between longer posts, but between the short ones they take over the screen) and the Join Date and other information isn’t right justified. And the green highlight text–yuck.

I’ll get used to it, I’m sure I will. But I liked the old one better.

Also, I can’t find where I can choose not to show my signature…

That little floaty arrow with the forum switch drop down box is usually covered by your ads, so they’re pointless. Also, the theme sucks on the iPhone and regular computer but it’s merely just awful on an iPad. Ton all three devices the huge blue lines between posts is incredibly annoying

Typical Post from a certain ilk of Doper: “Bitch about other’s posts without actually adding any content.”

Also, do you have a macro for that “pay 10 dollars” line, cause you sure spam it enough in ATMB threads

When you reply to a post, directly below the reply box is a blue bar that says, ‘Additional Options.’ Below that, the first check-box is ‘Show your signature.’ You can simply untick it.

Didn’t it used to be unchecked by default? So you actually had to deliberately check it if you wanted to show your sig?

Under the new setup, you have to remember to uncheck it every time.

Nah, don’t uncheck it. People will like reading signature lines every time.
