Wow. That was a good Pro Bowl.

But I have questions. A) What the hell was Marc Bulger doing on the field (yes, tossing 4 TDs, but still); and B) Why was Derrick Mason returning kicks for the AFC instead of Donte Hall?

Now all we need is for the NFL to realize this “parity” thing sucks and that what people really want to see is two or three teams beating the shit out of the other 29.

Yes that was an awesome game!! It looked like the teams really cared about winning, for a change. They even rushed Vanderjagt on the final field goal. The surprise of seeing guys rushing him when he was expecting a freebie is probably what caused him to miss.

Bulger was great!! And part of the reason his performance was so great was that he really didn’t belong out there. But he played his heart out and made people rethink his ability. McNabb and Favre were supposed to be NFC all-stars, but they were both pulled for injuries and Hasselback and Bulger replaced them. I guess Bulger was the 5th leading vote-getter in the NFC. Who would you take over him? A lot of NFC teams have QB problems. Vick was injured most of the year and Brooks and Garcia had down years.

I agree, it was a good game indeed. Maybe the NFL realized that the only way they could get people to watch this meaningless game was to tell the coaches to forget about defensive strategies. Either way, it was entertaining.

Dante Hall bruised some ribs early in the game and didn’t play much after that.

Dante Hall left the game with bruised ribs. By the way, Derrick Mason went to the Pro Bowl in 2000 as a kick returner…
