I’m sure he’ll be alright.
Mine is still up. Admittedly ,it’s mostly hockey themed, but it’s still up(17 years and counting)
But will he receive Total Consciousness on his deathbed?
I took a short nap and feel somewhat more alive.
Once I’m finished my morning irk shift we will go get the food.
I don’t know what happen to my chest of drawers. I couldn’t get three of the four drawers to open this morning. I was getting upset, I needed to get dressed, and couldn’t get to my clothes. Then all of a sudden they opened. None of them are full, so that is not the problem. Too weird.
I think I’m catching a cold. Scratchy throat and runny nose.
I FINALLY hemmed the tablecloth I got last month - note to self - 84" long, not 102"… And I took in the waists of 6 pairs of pants. I’m thinking I’ll run to Aldi’s, then settle in to knit for the rest of the afternoon.
Sounds like a plan…
swampy, have fun with your chili cookoff. I’ll attend one late this month when I head back to my old town for the Dem’s Jackson Day chili cookoff. When I lived there, I always participated in it, as well as the silent auction that accompanied it. Like the one at your church, it was a fundraiser and the proceeds went to a good cause.
wet one, when I used to put a tree up, it came down around Epiphany. I gave myself that day to avoid the procrastination that I knew would happen otherwise.
Tis a lazy day. I need to do my contribution to the Super Bowl/birthday party this evening. I think I’ll take slices of the kielbasa, sautee them, put one each in the cups of a mini muffin in the middle of cornbread batter and bake them that way and serve a nice mustard sauce on the side. It comes out a bit like a baked kielbasa corn dog. Other than that, it’s lazing around. I took tomorrow off since I’ll be out late tonight (the perils of getting older means that you need to recuperate from being out past midnight
).
Since I don’t put a Christmas tree up, I am spared the angst of when to take it down.
Got up about 6:30 and drove to the Krispy Kreme downtown for fresh donuts and chocolate milk, which have been consumed. Indoor Soccer from 1-6, then settle in with my bag of Lays potato chips for the Stupor Bowl (yep, my diet today is Donuts and Potato Chips).
A bit cloudy but supposed to be in the 60’s again, so the gas company (heating) will be cussing again.
Good luck with the Chili, swampy.
All ya’ll have a good Sunday now.
My boy is much better today. He did not yelp when I massaged the medicine into his ears. The vet said it’s the left one but I am treating both.
We will watch the Super Bowl at least until we get sleepy. I need to come up with some munchies.
**MetalMouse ** you are lucky to never have been called for jury duty. They get me twice a year without fail. Once for federal and once for state. Both of them require a phone call the day prior to ascertain if one must report.
Happy Sunday all.
Back from Aldi - I swear, you’d think they were giving food away! They have a tiny parking lot and it was full! But I got in and out in a fairly reasonable time. Now I shall assume the knit position.
When I lived in the city I got called for jury duty a lot.
But Baltimore had a system of one day or one trial, whichever is longer.
One time some went for a very short trial and they thought they could go home. Nope, had to come back to the jury room to finish out the day.
I should have picked up my order later in the day. The store was packed, people shopping for super bowl. You’d think they would have done that yesterday.
When the store called me to let me know they were out of some things I got them to add what I forgot. Got home and realized I forgot cheese for the cheeseburgers.
I got to wondering about that a while back and checked. Around here they won’t call you if you’re over a certain age. Prolly 'cause the judges hate having to take all those potty breaks.
Yippers. I also know better than to ask her where it went!
The month long yamhill-county-melt-down began Firday. Today we’re gonna go out and get a grilled cheese sammie of some kind. The participating eateries compete to see who can come up with the most outrageous sammich while still being able to call it a grilled cheese, so we’ll be eating some really good sammies this month. ![]()
**FCD **had jury duty last month… and completely forgot about it. He went to the courthouse and 'fessed up, and he’s now scheduled for May. He immediately put it in his calendar.
Supper will be roast chickie, fresh broccoli, and other stuff that I’ll figure out later.
Meanwhile, back to knitting.
feel crappy today probably getting nephews cold but im cold and it hasnt decided to either clear up or rain more
hope ne dosent win as im tried of hearing about them …
Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated and et a bunch of chili. YUM! I don’t know how much money got raised but there was a good crowd on hand and the soup pots on each table looked full of money. We came home and nappage ensued. We’re both still full so any consumption of food will be via forage. Tomorrow I get to take care of a semi-annual duty at the church house. I get to clean the filters on both septic tanks and the grease trap. ICK! I shall have help however and really 'tis not a hard thing to do just an icky one. Envy me.
Happy Sunday to all. Mid-afternoon, and Waikiki is hot. Did laundry up on the rooftop laundry area, now sitting here with the door open and fan blowing. Looks to be a busy week for me coming up though, and we may get a little rain, which hopefully will cool the air a bit.
Semi-ignoring the StuporBowl while doing state paperwork. It had the most bleeps I remember ever hearing in a halftime show and the least amount of music I recognized. I now consider myself old and they better get their damn ball and get off my lawn.
PS — if you have to work on state forms I suggest craft-distilled rye. Six shots in and some of it actually makes sense.
ruble, I watched some Puppy Bowl instead of the halftime performance by a bunch of people I’ve never heard of (and yes, they can all get off my lawn). As for the game, I kept watching to see if anything interesting would happen…it didn’t. Far as I could see, even the commercials were so-so.
Anyway, soccer is done for another week (one more week to go). See how long I can stay in bed on Monday morning this week.
swampy, glad the fund-raising went well and have fun with the filters…ick!
All y’all take care and I’ll catch you on the next MMP.
well my oft mentioned cousin managed to shit the bed of an pretty chill evening by totaling my aunt owned car while taking her bf home by hitting a broken down car that was in the middle of the street
car is totaled …. claim is filed and police report taken …. it onwas one of those no lights desert back roads
Apparently the stopped car didn’t even have any power for the lights and the car ahead of her barley missed it and turned around to help got out and turned off the car lights right before she hit the van/suv aunts so livid shes drinking a 32 oz coors …first in almost 30 years ………
hadn’t even had it paid off 3 years ……
So the personal dynamics are gonna be even more reayl crappy for a fair bit here ……
Anyone have a spare room?
