Nut, I order my jeans (a rather large size and with a relaxed fit) from Levi’s on-line. Probably too expensive to ship to Ing-ger-land, but might want to consider it if you now what type/style really works for you.
Red, the old bat can just stew in her own juices, you’re responsible for you and not her work.
Well, the cold arrived (31F in lieu of 51F yesterday), but no snow on the ground, to the great disappointment of thousands of kids looking for a snow day off. Need to do a couple things around the house, was completely useless yesterday, but planning on Wednesday for the lawn mower to shop excursion.
I took a snow day yesterday, too. My daughter’s school was closed, so she was home. And my husband is considered “essential staff” by the college he works for (the kids need to eat somewhere, and many of the dorms don’t have adequate kitchens for them to cook in), so he gets paid double time to work when the college is closed. I get paid the same no matter what… so I stayed home. My son’s day care was still open, and since we already paid for him to be there, my husband dropped him off on the way to work. It was nice to have a day just me and my daughter. We played some video games and sewed a table cloth for her Girl Scout troop when they do cookie selling booths.
But now I’m back at work and I have to get caught up. Ugh.
It’s a cloudy 30 degrees outside, supposed to snow today.
Ripple is better. He is back to being a brat, and is chasing the cat around the house. I’m going to send off an email to his breeder today asking about colchicine, a med he maybe should be put on.
I trust the breeder more than the vet when it comes to health issues, So I’ll ask her what she thinks first.
I got him some denta stix. I knew he’d love the mint flavored ones. He goes crazy when I pull out dental floss and I have to be careful not to leave it on top of the trash or he will get it and eat it.
Lots to do today. I didn’t get near enough done yesterday.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. There were 18,000 people at the Metallica concert last night ,and judging by social media, I knew all of them(including Hockey Monkey):dubious: I having chicken brining for tacos tonight.
They do sell in the Yoo-Kay, but their wimmin’s section is as bad as everyone else’s; you have a choice between slim, skinny, super skinny and unable to move your legs. There isn’t a ‘would like to eat a pie at some point’ option. I’d have to buy men’s.
And, well, forget the shipping, they’re too expensive for me anyway.
Anyway, I failed at buying any- there’s so little option round here. I did get a new hoodie, and some cake, which maybe counts for something.
They’re apparently getting proper snow up country, and we had a speck of sleet earlier. I reckon the panic buying of bread and aigs will start soon.
Back from the dentist. The hygienist was especially rough this time. Anyway, I decided to just stay home today. Tis still cold and dreary so a good day to be a slug at home. I do have things to do but it shall remain to be seen if I do those things. The main thing is the laundry. Never a moment without laundry.
Generally adulting. I am brewing several jugs of tea so that I have it to drink both cold and nuked-hot. One of the reasons I like brewing various teas instead of using mixes; even try to heat tea made from a powder? The result just ain’t up to my taste.
It’s feast or famine, isn’t it? **FCD **has been twiddling his thumbs for weeks, and now he’s got 2 major projects (apart from building the new workshop) that are due in April. And I’m so busy here, I can’t take off to help him - well, except on weekends.
Ruble, think it goes “May you live in interesting times”. Supposedly Chinese, but never proven or referenced. Sometimes I think life is too interesting these days…
Butters, sorry the dentist trip wasn’t great; scraping too near the gums? (that’s my biggest headache).
Nut, I swear, until your above post I had no idea you were a woman. My apologies. Am sorry about the size problem, apparently England has caught the ‘American’ style for jeans. But a hoodie and cake are not a bad subsitute.
Managed to pick up after myself and bathe, so those are my morning accomplishments. Will run the dishwasher here in a little bit.
IIRC, colchicine is a drug hoomans take for gout. One of my preacher cousins used to take it. (There are an appalling number of preachers in my family.)
The sayin’ we like to use around here is* “busier than a one-legged man in a butt-kickin’ contest”. *
Spaghetti was made, and et, by me last night, but I made my usual mistake. I cooked too much pasta and when I realized it, I put in a can of fire-roasted tomatoes instead of just getting another container of marinara outta the freezer.
It’s still pretty good though.
Hope the ketamine works for you Sunny. Isn’t that one of the drugs TV writers use to poison people with on TV dramas? Wifey hates it when I mutter at the screen, "That’s not what that’s for.
I looked it up: Ketamine, sold under the brand name Ketalar among others, is a medication mainly used for starting and maintaining anesthesia. It induces a trance-like state while providing pain relief, sedation, and memory loss.
You’re gonna forget us Sunny?
Not much going on here except nephew is coming home sick gking to be warm …need to make phone calls but probably be later hope no one gets that evil 4letter word
Wonderful. The food truck at work was acai bowls. I had no idea what acai was, but I tried it out anyway. It came with bananas, strawberries, granola and honey, so maybe it’s good nutrition. WRONG. I looked it up. I ate the equivalent amount of sugar as a bowl of ice cream, and I’m type 2 diabetic. Now I’m going to feel like jittery poop the rest of the day.
Just found out that they’re cancelling school tomorrow because of extreme cold. Like -50°F windchill. I already took yesterday off for snow, and I have deadlines to meet. I think I’m going to work from home tomorrow and let the TV babysit my daughter. I already paid for daycare for my son, so he’s going to daycare. There’s no way I could work from home with that adorable little monster around.
I know, I know. A few weeks ago, I was complaining about a lack of snow and cold. I think Mother Nature is confusing quality with quantity. Some cold and snow is nice. -50°F is not nice.
When I was in college, there were 2 days when we had -80° windchill - they actually closed the university those 2 days. West Lafayette, IN isn’t a lot of fun in the winter…
