Wrapping up January in the MMP

I fell asleep for about an hour, woke up to SNOW! Already the sidewalk is covered.

Bumba - colchicine is also used to prevent amyloidosis. Some shar pei get it, some don’t. I don’t know at what point they should.

FCM, they rarely close the campus of the college I went to/where Romeo works now. But I’m pretty sure they’ll close the campus tomorrow and the day after, too. There’s so much outdoor walking from building to building, and if you can get frostbitten in 5 minutes, there’s no way to get from building to building without getting frostbite, much less from the dorms to campus buildings. But since Romeo is considered “essential staff,” he has to go in… but he makes double time! He made double time yesterday, and if he makes double time tomorrow and the day after… well, that’ll be a nice paycheck!

The wind has started. Schools and lots of businesses will be closed tomorrow and Thursday. Garbage pickup is postponed until Thursday, and maybe til Fir-day. Roads are already getting bad. I will be irking from home. But the prediction is for the high 30s on Sunday.

Sunny, are you being treated for migraines?

My drive home was rainy, but the temp is still in the 40s… for now. Freeze coming tonight, tho.

Supper will be ham stead and stuff that I’ll choose as soon as I get to the kitchen.

Still snowing here, I think we will get quite a bit.

The “No Snow” signs appear to be working here in Raleigh. Taco meat is cooking in the oven. Gonna bite the Bulleit tonight.

Feel better! And don’t forget us.

Juliet , that’s one of the reasons a significant portion of my Wisconsin relatives moved waaayyyyy south.

nut, I hate shopping for jeans as much as you do. I’m an apple shaped woman in a world of pear shaped jeans. :stuck_out_tongue:

{{{sunny}}}

metal mouse, the old bat finally got her butt in gear when she figured out the rest of us weren’t in any hurry to do her work.

sari, I just picked up my first prescription of colchicine last week. I’m not sure if it’s doing anything yet.

spidey, here in teh Music City area, we would say busier than a one armed banjo picker in skeeter season. :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s seriously cold here, although those of you up north would likely laugh at the 24F this morning as a heat wave. The walkways and roads were dry by the time the temps dropped and we didn’t get any snow. Tonight is predicted to get even colder and snow is likely. Makes me want to just curl up and stay in. Alas and alack, rent needs to be paid, groceries bought, etc.

OAt my dentist appointment 5his girl just dived in right off The bat. Poking extra deep and aggressively, using her cyber water pick and then says “oh, you have a little bleeding here”. You think? I am traumatized.

Found out at 5 PM I must be at a mandatory manager’s meeting at 0800 which means for me a departure from home at 0630. No later to allow for school bus traffic backups etc. not at all. amused. So, off to try to sleep at 830 PM. Like that’s gonna happen.

Nighty Night, Butters; Enjoy the meeting–hopeful;ly less traumatic than the dentist visit. :p;)

Red, 21F tonight down here and in the 20’s tomorrow, agree with you that it’s not as cold as our Northern friends, but for down south, it’s our deep freeze.

Shady, I promise that I won’t freeve…

Wet one, Juliet, Sari, stay warm.

Nappage and reading took up a fair amount of the afternoon, and dinner was a Mac-Fettuccine combination which did my cholesterol no good at all. Internetting for the balance of the evening.

The breeder got back to me, says no need for colchicine unless he has recurring fevers. It’s what I thought, but medicine changes. The vet I used for Mackie told me to give him aspirin, and unless he got dehydrated, nothing else to do.
Now vets want to give rimadyl and other stuff and run a bunch of tests.

My son is annoying me. I told him last week to check out his English class and he didn’t. Now he has two assighments due tomorrow morning, one simple and done, the other not so simple. It’s going to take hours and he is going to want my help. I have to irk, and when I get off irk at 11, I want to go to bed. I can sleep in tomorrow, so it won’t be so bad I guess. I’m not taking Ripple to daycare, no friggin way I am going out in single digit temps for that.
He has to write a short essay critiqueing an actual email from a business to a client, and then rewrite the email. The email is a winner, you had to read the whole damn thing just to figure out what the topic was. It was hidden in there, you had search to find it. There are so many mispellings, grammar errors, punctuation errors, no organization, no salutation, and just a little bit of snark - maybe - I’m not sure if it was snark or stupidity.

I made it through the first day. Tomorrow they’re doubling the dose, so I expect to forget most of it.

Wednesday morning here. My morning classes were canceled, so I’ve had some time for myself this morning. I work part time several different places as well as private students so I don’t get paid for time I don’t work.

That’s a bummer, but it’s the nature of the job.

My wife and kids left for Japan yesterday, and I’ll join them Friday we come back together next Wednesday. It will be good to see some friends there.

It’s the internet- I could be a collective of highly trained spiders for all most of you know.

Wimminfolk spiders though.

Up early, after not a lot of sleep- I’ve realised for this placement next week I’ll be needing to get up about 2 hours earlier than I have been (and one hour earlier than my alarm- I find it very hard to drag myself out of bed when it’s still dark, so I keep giving myself an extra hour). Plan is to get earlier every day this week so’s it’s not so much of a shock, but I wanna go back to bed already.

In short; blurf.

Happy Hump Day!

It’s a still dark 10 degrees feels like 1 degree outside.
I’m not taking Ripple to daycare today, I’m not going out unless it is absolutely necessary.

I woke up at 3:30 and never got back to sleep.
It’s going to be a sleepy day.

We got a grand total of NO SNOW and the roads were mostly dry for my drive in. I know some areas north and west of us got hit, but for us, it was just rain and cold. Which suits me fine.

Much work waiting for me. Happy Wednesday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 28 Amurrkin out and N.O.S. with a predicted high of 50 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. I was a slug abed. I got the sniffles or sump’n. Feel a little ick. I shall at some point go back and read what I’ve missed but for now it’s more than I can do. I need to go over to the church house at some point to take the biiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash cans down to the road for pickup tomorrow. I do not see myself goin’ to the Pubic Sto’ to lay in provisions. We can survive on what’s here. Beef-veggie soup and grilled cheese sammiches shall be sup. That I can handle.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

GMTA - I’m thinking of making veggie-beef soup also. I have a couple of hunks of leftover steak that was a bit tough, but it should soup up nicely. I hope…

Our garage door opener died yesterday, and we think part of the reason is that the spring is poorly adjusted. So **FCD **has called some guy to come adjust the spring and install the replacement parts for the opener. Always something…

Morning all. Up early (0630) due to nappage yesterday. Need to load up the lawnmower and take it down to the shop for tuneup/repairs. Might also break fast somewhere rather than at home, we’ll see.

Outside of that, nothing much exciting planed. Downloaded an “Advanced Reader Copy” of a book that won’t be out in paper until April, so I’ll probably start reading it and depending how good it is, it could take up most of the day.

Nut, glad you are not a spider collective; spiders give me the creeps and you don’t.

I am not thinking of making soup today, but Cheeseburgers have defrosted and are on the menu this evening.

IT’S 23 BELOW ZERO WITHOUT THE WIND CHILL. Yes, I am shouting.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off again today.

IT’S 23 DEGREES ABOVE ZERO WITHOUT THE WINDCHILL HERE! Yes I am shouting back.

Nut, glad you’re a real(?) person. But “Spider Collective” would be an awesome metal band name.
