**Juliet **- There are a lot of dopers in the DC area who I’ve met over the years, but the only Mumper really nearby is Vunderbob, and he’s pretty much deserted us. **Tugig **is pretty close, too, but he also rarely posts any more. Over the years at various gatherings, I’ve met swampy, sari, Spidey, taters, gt, ruble, **lieu **(also long missing) and the recently popped-in Rebo. And if we want to reach back to the way earliest days of the MMP, before it merited its own sticky, I also met Zappo, who quit posting here eons past, and I spoke on the phone with RueDeDay, the founder of the MMP. Most I met either when they or I happened to be on travel, usually work-related.
And if I forgot anyone, I apologize - the brain is failing…
ruble French Azilum sounds fascinating. I may make a trip just to see it. I had no idea it existed. What kind of condition is it in?
Nut if I had to I could live on espresso, but I’d rather live on beer.

Today I must get assorted pet food, and visit the dentist to get fitted for my crown for my implant. Also the packing. Wheeeeee!

Well, my Kitchen, Bathroom, and master closet are completely stripped…and I do mean Completely (see Facebook reference above). They have left me the small bathroom, but they’ll come for it soon enough and then I’ll have to start visiting Wal-mart 3-4 times a day or get a motel room. We shall see.
On the other hand, my garage is…interesting.
Howdy all. I went to irk for a couple hours then had to go to the doctor. I have a UTI. joy, joy. I have three days of antibiotics to take and that should do it.

I got some Amish corn today - it was good. I also made zucchini “fries” breaded in Eye-talian bread crumbs and parmesan. They was yum! Plus we had spinach ravioli. I’s stuffded. Ice cream later when my gut settles.
**Spidey **- daughter, Roxy, and I may be the only attendees - **FCD **will probably be working and SIL isn’t interested. But daughter will be there with her camera, clicking away, weather permitting. Not sure which day we’ll attend.
Just looked at the weather - we’re hoping to go on Firday, but the forecast is less than impressive. We’ll make our decision closer to the day…
Howdy Y’all! I laundered, ahrned, made a quick trip to :eek:Wally Jr.:eek:, and made sup which we et. I am feelin’ tahrd! Plus it’s been rainy/stormy all afternoon and is supposed to continue over the next three days. Hopefully I can achieve mowage one day this week. I seriously feel like I could go beddy bye right now, but I won’t.

I think my neighbor (the landord) is going to cut down the tree growing through the fence for me. I asked him what he wanted to do it and he said it wouldn’t take much. Then he pointed out that the roots are on his side of the fence, and it would only take a few whacks with an axe. We were afraid to take it down because the neighbor’s wires are going through it. He laughed about that and said so what if we brought the wires down.
I wonder if he likes his tenants?
My neighbor (the tenant) said the next time he has his tall ladder he will fill in the hole the squirrels chewed in the side of the house. He can see the hole from his balcony. I don’t know how much he wants to do it, I didn’t get a chance to ask.
Friggin’ tree rats, I hate them. They are having problems with the squirrels getting in their attic.
You’d think all that would put me in a good mood.

Juliet, I’ve met doggio and ruble when they’ve visited the Nashville area and have met a couple of dozen other dopers at dopefests here. There are still a few of us who post on the board, but the numbers have dropped. However, a couple of dopers are IRL friends.

Well, I lied. However, I did call it. The cow-orker called out again today. I was there until nearly six. Poor Nelson was doing the peepee dance when I got home. I figure that she’ll be out the rest of the week. She has intermittent FMLA and vacation next week. She’s within spittin’ distance of retirement, so she’s been pretty much calling it in for the past few years. If she’s out tomorrow, I’ll have a sit down with my boss about backfilling a fourth position so that we’re more functional when someone is out.
Worked, came home napped. Gordie has been itchy, so I gave him Benedryl. It did not make him sleepy, it’s apparently terrier speed.:eek:
Sari, I got the pleasure of meeting Captain Kirk when he was doing sound for a band at one of the venues in Raleigh.

It’s a dark 73 degrees outside, supposed to rain all day.
I woke around 3ish, damn bladder, couldn’t get back to sleep, so here I am. Better to stay up than sleep through the alarm and have a rushed morning.

I should be going clothes shopping today, but I hates it I does. I was going to brave the local city, rather than the little local town like normal, but I’m not sure, it’ll be an hour each way and heaving with tourists. I can probably get what I need closer and it’s not as though I’m completely out of clothes.
My alarm didn’t wake me this morning, probably because I accidentally left it in another room last night (I use my phone 'cos it has a gradual wake up option). First time I’ve done that. Luckily I woke up at about the right time with a feeling of missing something.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 74 Amurrkin out and cloudy (well, dark) with a predicted high of only 80 (BRRR!) and rain/tstorms/apocalypse predicted all day, all night, all day tomorrow, and all day Firday. Looks like mowage will not be possible, so next week I shall bale hay instead of mow I reckon. 
Today is lay in provisions day. I could skip that since there are no huge needs, but the Pubic Sto’ has a deal on large scallops and I got me a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for scallops. Even with the deal they’re still kinda pricey but less pricey than usual. Thus I shall brave the public at the Pubic Sto’.

mmmmmm - scallops! I haven’t had any in ages, and I do lurves 'em! I remember when I was a kid, my mom complained that they were all the way up to 99¢/lb! :eek: I wish. I think the last time I saw them in a local store, they were closer to $13-14/lb. Oh well…
We had another toad-soaker last night and more is forecast. We may not be going to Spidey’s balloon event because it may not be happening due to weather. We shall see how it plays out.
