All right. Who thinks what about the new season so far? I like it. John Doggett is the man and he keeps me interested. I’m not such a big fan of the psychic lesbian partner Doggett has. She kind of bores me. The princess bride guy is a great addition.
So, Kersh is working for the bad guys cause he has to, but inside he really wants to help humanity. Kind of like Skinner. What a dynamic charachter skinner is. Good Guy one minute, easy puppet the next. He does what he has to to keep the POWER. If he made the morally correct choice every time he would lose influence over future events so he is often forced to sacrifice morality to protecting his influence. Neato!
How about the way they dealt with Mulder’s departure. Too dangerous these days. So is he gonna just lay low, or be a “Lone Gunman” type of dealy where he’s fighting the future in his own unseen way. He’s a shadow charachter now. I just wish Duchovney would come back for an episode or 2 a season just to step out of the shadows and drop some info. He’ll have become a good version of the CSM! But no, he’s spoiled and won’t even do a single show this season. Damn.
Any thoughts?

P.S. - Great use of that quote (I thought): “Nothing important happened today”. It replaced “The Truth is Out There”. Give me another 2 or 3 seasons and we’re cool to switch into movies.
So far I am really hating what’s going on this season. I had hoped that Mulder’s departure would also finally be the end of all the conspiracy crap. My favorite episodes are the ones where they are investigating an actual x-file and not another govt/alien conspiracy. Apparently Scully’s baby is some kind of experimental soldier or something which apparently has telekenetic abilities or some such nonsense? Give me a break!
Yeah. The new girl agent is kind of psychic - she gets “feelings”. And she keeps talking about how attractive she thinks Scully is. While she has a point, it’s raised a few geeks eyebrows (amongst other things). I’m thinking X-files next big kiss will be Scully and Agent Reyes.
Alot more sexuality this season. I think I’ll call it “The Baywatch” season. Xena is great as an indestructible, yet sensitive, super-soldier. Trust her Doggett! Trust her!
Nope. It doesn’t have to end. EVER. Got it? My Sunday’s would be ruined. RUINED!!!
I’m guessing 2 more seasons counting this one. Anyone’s guess. We’ll see how the season does in MOTW episode territory. Those are always the ones that bore me. They’re starting off big it looks like. Next week the first monster of the season is - The Devil!!! Gonna be hard to top after that one. How many damn monsters can there be.
We want Aliens! We want Aliens! We want aliens!
For chrissake drop a little knowledge about the Rebel aliens on us. Be merciful!
Hmm… I am extremely ambivalent about how I like this season. On one hand, I find he Reyes character pretty exciting, but on the other, I am extremely disgusted with Scully (so far). In one segment of an episode she’s begging John to let it drop, and in the next she’s all over it, then off again, then on again… come on, Scully, you’re too smart for this, and you’ve been in a million conspiracies. Shit or get off the pot.
Kirsch (is it Kersh?) suprised me in the last episode. I still don’t like him, but I used to not like Skinner, either. I do not like the Princess Bride guy. I think he is a smug bastard, and Mulder needs to return for one episode just to pop him one. I do like how Reyes keeps playing him, though. Scully never used her sexuality to her advantage. Too busy thinking about autopsies, I guess.
One teensy little request: gimme the smoking man! I can’t believe that he isn’t part of this one since he has been a part of Scully’s little problems forever. My mom said, “Eh, he was more of a Mulder guy. Without Mulder, no smoking man.” Ack! I hope she’s wrong.
My prediction: XFiles ends after this season (doesn’t Anderson’s contract end this season?). I like Doggett and Reyes, but they’re no Mulder and Scully. They don’t even have any sexual tension between them.
As far as I’m concerned, X-Files has jumped the shark. I don’t even care what happens anymore. I was a loyal watcher from the first show… would tape every episode that I’d have to miss for some reason or another. Then mid-season last year I found that I didn’t bother taping. Now, last week I even decided to watch Alias when it was up against X-Files… a sure sign my love affair with the show is over.
“Nothing Important Happened Today” is the name of the episodes (with last week’s being part 2). It’s likely only to revert back to “The Truth Is Out There” next week.
Doggett and Reyes are all right, but they’re no Mulder and Scully. They lack chemistry.
I miss Mulder, CSM, and Krycek. Follmer is okay, but I keep seeing him as Westley. It’s distracting.
I want Mulder to come back for the solely to kill Kersh. Failing that, I want Doggett or Skinner to off him.
Mulder’s departure was handled poorly by the writers, IMO. They knew for a while that Duchovny wasn’t happy with things, and he’d long been talking about leaving the show. They couldn’t write a better ending than him mysteriously packing up and then him being simply “gone”? Come on.
With Mulder gone, they don’t know what to do with Scully. Hence her uncharacteristic behavior.
My guess is that this season is it. Duchovny is gone, and Anderson has commented that there are other projects she’d like to work on. I hear another movie is in the works, and my guess is that the movie will wrap everything up.
I’m getting annoyed. It looks as though they’ve just been stringing us along. THE TRUTH, it would seem, actually ISN’T out there. There are no answers. There never were any answers. There was never any intention of explaining anything.
