You can feel the epicness because they use both Adagio In D Minor from ‘Sunshine’ AND the score from ‘Thin Red Line’ in the trailer.
That would be awesome. Too bad they probably won’t do it.
I’m guessing that’s from “Man of Steel” director Zach Snyder. Superman Returns was directed by Singer himself.
I don’t think its a hint at a spoiler as much as a comment about the business aspect of film but
In a recent radio interview Hugh Jackman said this is the first time in many years that he doesn’t know that a Wolverine movie is in the works. Its allowing him to indulge a little on food for the first time in a long time.
What?
For those who want to see it broken down bit by bit:
Oh, never mind I think I misunderstood you. I thought your first sentence was saying that the following paragraph was a quote from the Superman director criticizing Singer. (I recall he had made some critical comments of the previous Superman movie.)
But on rereading, I see you were just saying that this movie is from the director of Superman Returns, and that the following paragraph was your own opinion.
In other words, I read:
From the director of Superman Returns!
as
From the director of Superman Returns:
Upon Googling, my memory may have also exaggerated Snyder’s comments about the state of the Superman franchise. But he did apparently say "“I think Superman is broken and needs to be fixed, from a movie stand point,” which is probably what I was remembering.
Ah, I see.
Between Nightcrawler, Azazel, and now Blink, I think we’re getting teleporter overload.
I’ve been watching Wolverine and the X-men on Netflix lately, I think I may be spoiling this movie for myself.
The 90s X-Men cartoon did a multi-part version of the story too.
Time travel, huh? Most franchises go straight to hell once time travel becomes feasible. But I guess I’m willing to keep an open mind.
I did have a hard time buying that the young Professor Xavier and the Patrick Stewart version were the same person. Completely different accents, to my ear.
Unless you start right off with time travel, like Terminator or Austin Powers. Otherwise it just becomes some weird deus ex machine plot device.
Kind of like magic. Or some of the stronger mutant/super powers. Then it’s just like why not solve all the protagonists problems by waving a wand or leveling a building?
Scottish / English. What’s the difference?
Also not to mention that Patrick Stewart has looked exactly the same for as long as I’ve seen him in film (30+ years)!
Since the original story was published in 1980 does that still count?
Did it end with a “reset button”, everything’s-back-to-normal moment?
I don’t know about who could have done as well or better, but I thought X2 was brilliant. I didn’t much care for the other ones, except for the first half of X-Men: First Class. Although I didn’t see the latest Wolverine one - was that any good?
You think Michael Bay could have made a better X-Men? Are you at all familiar with the Transformers movie franchise?
I’m not a Singer fanboy, I agree for instance that he dropped the ball with Superman Returns. But I think he did a fantastic job on the original X-Men, and followed it up with a pretty good sequel. Did you see the mess they made of the third x-men movie?
I don’t see how you can consider Blade a ‘proof’ of anything for comic book movies. He was such a minor property, (and in the comic-verse still is) that I suspect that if you took a random poll at the height of his movie popularity you’d get the majority of respondents having no idea Blade was a comic book character.
X2 and First Class give The Avengers a run for its money on Best Super Hero Movie Ever. I cannot wait for this.
Dude, X-men 2 is the best X-men movie out there. I’m glad Singer is returning.
