Xbox live is like whoa

Has anyone else played this yet? I picked up a copy of Unreal Championship with the starter kit last Friday and man, it’s a freaking blast! Granted, the game is completely one-dimensional: you kill people, but it blows my mind how this never gets old

The only other games I’ve played so far are NFL Fever 2003 (I don’t care much for sports or sports games, a friend wanted to rent it) and Ghost Recon. Ghost Recon seemed pretty in depth. I only played it for like 5 minutes because I was itching to play UC some more but I have it rented for a week so I’m sure I’ll have time to get into it a little more. I hear it’s awesome.

I really want to play Mech Assault. It looks great.

So has anyone else played this yet? Thoughts, likes, dislikes? SPOOFE?

Alas, I don’t have, nor can I get a broadband connection…

I am pretty cheesed that they XBL does not support the multiplayer options on Halo. That was the main reason I was looking forward to it. Secondary reasons being new games like unreal and Ghost Recon, and then to a lesser extent, NFL 2K3.

I will be waiting until after Xmas to pick it up, I think.

:([sub]No Halo.[/sub]:frowning:

For now I’ll stick with www.xbconnect.com

mouthbreather - it’s still possible that Halo might be coming to Xbox live. Everytime Bungie (or Microsoft) has been asked that question in an interview so far they’ve given a “no comment.” I guess it all depends on whether or not they designed Halo to read a patch. I’m betting they did.

Also:

Halo > Unreal Championship but

UC on XBL > Halo on XBC or GameSpy

You got the headset, infinitely less lag, you don’t have to jump back and forth between your xbox and your computer to set up a match and it’s ALOT easier to find a game.

Yes, indeed. Mechassault is my current favorite. I also picked up unreal, but that’s been a little laggy on some games.
Over all, I think it’s great. however, they really need to work on some issues like streamlining the friend invite feature and making sure the servers are up to the task.

The voice communicator is a mixed blessing too. The main problem is when you happen upon a game full of assholes. The sort of people who do nothing but scream into their mics and make the game a crappy time. You can mute these people if you can figure out who’s doing the screaming.

Like I said, it’s off to a great start but it’s got a ways to go.

FYI, my “gamertag” is BRIOHAZARD if you should wanna look me up.
(Which is a play on my name, IE: Brian/ Bri. Although 4 out of 5 times people pronounce it “brieohazard”, like I’m big on cheese or something)
And I’m stuck with this name for the next year.
Oh well…

All fear BRIOHAZARD, the dangerous cheese.

I played rented Ghost Recon the other day. Not really my type of game (although I think I would like it better if I owned it because the learning curve is slightly higher) but I had a blast watching my friend play it online. Truly amazing game. I’m still stoked about Unreal though, this game is awesome. My Gamertag is CISCO MD if any of you guys want to play. I’m not by any means the best guy out there but I can hold my own, I usually come in 3rd or 4th place.

I haven’t picked up XBL … yet. I am eager to as I have rented Mech Assualt and it is a lot of fun while looking great. Also I’ve played Unreal on the PC and I know I’ll be loving it too. Oddly enough, I’m a little intimidated by having to pick a gamer tag for my xbox. I’ll bump this thead again when I have one picked out so we can all get together for a game.

I don’t think the gamertag is as important as they’re making it out to be. I know, at least in UC, the name that people see is the name you picked for the profile of that character, which you can change every five minutes if you see fit.
