I’ve been notified I’m now eligible for a COVID vaccination.
Now I need to FIND one! (Or two, technically.)

Read, didn’t retain, yada, yada.
Had another visit with a different doc this morning, this time by magic innnerwebz. He told me some things I didn’t know, like how my constant diarrhea could be because I had my gall bladder out last year. I’ve had the diarrhea longer than that, but ya never know. He prescribes yet another med to see if it helps.
I’m hoping it does something good.
Then I have one more medical thing, a ‘wellness visit’ next Monday. I’m not sure about the utility of that one but it’ll make them happy, so I’ll endure do it. Then we can go back to the little house for awhile.
My hip is feeling a little better, but It still hurts to stand and walk. Yay for acetaminophen.
Well, my prescription is ready. Time to shower and dress. sigh
It was really weird going into stores in person today to do our grocery shopping. We took advantage of the early hour for seniors at Costco, then hit three other stores for various things. It felt claustrophobic at times, especially when people would bunch up, but all-in-all it felt good to be back doing for ourselves. And I sure don’t miss paying the tips and delivery charges. Our Costco bill was $300, which would have meant a $60 tip at 20%. It was really great to see some of the store personnel that we’ve been friendly with in the past, and also great that they and their families have come out unscathed.
And here I am, never stopped shopping in person. I had one disastrous Instacart experience about a year ago, and just felt better with being able to make my own substitutions even if I have had to yell at a couple maskholes at Safeway and Costco.
I’ve continued to shop in person, always masked, often as early as possible so crowds are minimal. People around here are pretty good at keeping distances. Could it be because our governor has been setting an example??
Looks like I’ll be wrangling Roxy on Moanday so Daughter can paint her bathroom. SIL is taking as many hours as he can get at work. It’s going to be a nice day so she can play in her sandbox and I can get my plants bedded. Nothing specific planned between now and then - anything can happen!!!
shoe, when I lived in Indiana and had to pay state / county taxes, there was a formula that we used. I worked in a county with a higher county tax than the one where I lived, so the work county deducted it from my payroll at their rate. When I did taxes, the formula split the difference between the two counties and I would get some of that refunded. That helped, as many years, I ended up paying more state income tax than federal. As for the bunkmate, he’s a 15 lb. canine American.
When they get scared, you swaddle them much like one would with an infant.
{{{bumba}}} I hope you get things sorted out and feel up to snuff soon.
Got EoM closed out today, only one day that has to be backdated.
(we didn’t get started until 12 days into March, given February’s beastly numbers). I got around an hour and a half of required training done (that only puts me 3 hours behind now) and hopefully, I can bug out early tomorrow.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
Up from naptime, time for hockey. Dinner is Asian BBQ stirfry.
Cookie, i never stopped in person shopping. but with my job, I get off just when eveerybody was opening, so I avoided all the crowds,
It was a joke, but it wouldn’t surprise me. ![]()
Read that as barking < Gordie likes this post >
Yay! Try for the Moderna, it lets you see the 5G better. ![]()
I used to have to do that with a roommate’s 180lbs. Sheppard mix during thunderstorms. Luckily, Gordie only fears light bulbs.
Evening all. No soccer practice today, since there are no games on the Easter Weekend, so I gave the kids Thursday and Friday off. Just as well, temperatures are down to 42F and it’ll get below freezing tonight and tomorrow night.
Cheeseburger has been consumed and estimate received for new gutters-getting another estimate tomorrow and then we’ll see, but this guy is local and seems to shoot straight, and has lots of good reviews, so I’ll probably go with him.
Again with the long nappage in the afternoon, need to find something to do so I’m not falling asleep and having to either stay up late or get up early.
I also shop in person and always masked, as are all the other shoppers. Mask awareness has been pretty good here in N. Ali-bama.
Bumba, I also had my gall bladder out (albeit over 25 years ago), have had any constant problems, sounds like Doc may be looking for a simple answer. Hope the meds work.
Flyboy, good news and good luck on finding a vaccination.
OK, need to do some internettin’ and readin’. All y’all take care.
I’m scheduled for my first Moderna shot for Friday the 9th, and the second shot 7 May.
Good for you! Same day as my second Pfizer.
I’m getting my second Pfizer shot next Thursday, which is good because the amusement parks will be opening soon. In fact, I just registered for a coaster club event. Yay!!
Darn, I think I made a mess of things in IMHO.
But I am a mess.
ugh
No you’re not
{{{{MG}}}}
I worry that I’ve been a bit too much of a jerk. Long, exhausting day. Now a friend is trying to help me and it didn’t end well.
To me, ‘coaster club’ involves several pints.
I’ve heard tell that both swampy’s and Moooom’s houses are coaster clubs, meaning using a coaster is required.
Yeah, it was a choice we made. We’re in our 70s with some underlying problems. My neighbors, who are also in the same category, continued to go to the stores, but only did so during the early hours set aside for people like us, and had no problems. I probably would have done so, but my esposa always errs on the side of caution.
I’m talking about the FUN kind of coasters! ![]()
My life isn’t too interesting. I went for a 6-mile walk today. Here’s what the Italian Easter cookies looked like:
There are many more of them. The recipe makes a LOT. The cookies themselves are subtly sweet, so I use more icing to make up for it. They’re lemony.
I’ve read all but am too tired and achy to respond. I lurves ya guys.
You are not a mess and they are (some of them) being poopy-heads.
