Yet Another Mundane and Pointless MMP

It’s raining - so this is what 40% chance looks like!

We’ve sorted the pictures, and many are going away. I’ll offer them to my sister when she comes by, but the remains will go to a thrift store. A couple have large sheets of broken glass - gotta figure out how I’ll dispose of that - plastic bags won’t do it.

Coasters?

I have more than enough coasters, thanks. :stuck_out_tongue:

I got some yarn delivered yesterday in a small cardboard box - I think I can break up the glass into that. Unfortunately, recycling doesn’t take plate glass - just bottles. So it’ll have to go into the trash. Tho I suppose I could put it in the kiln and make something. What could go wrong?

In my younger, more kind days, I painted a trash can lid yellow, lettered “BROKEN GLASS” on it, and put the glass in a trash can. I believe it was wrapped with paper or cardboard.

Cleaned the fridge and it wiped me out. The doctor mentioned I had some blood loss during surgery so maybe I am puny because of that. He said it was nothing he couldn’t handle with cauterizing. Picture that burning instrument up ones nose. No wonder I am puny. I just do not have the usual amount of energy. Pitiful me.

Moomm 'Round here, we’re requested to put broken glass into sealed cardboard boxes, so the trash folks don’t get their hands cut accidentally. It sounds like you have a good plan.

I cannot remember if I posted that hubby ended up just coming home after his travel snafu. The travel agency couldn’t re-book him to Amsterdam without it costing another several thousand, so he called it off. Delta stinks.

Today it is rainy and we seem to be just below the snow line, which is fine. We may go out to brunch once everyone is awake and puritified.

{{{hugs}}} to you too Swampy. Your day sounds long and draining.

Howdy Y’all! Since we were both up early enough, we deheathenated with the Luteruns this mornin’. Afterwards we grabbed a burger from MickeyD’s. We also accomplished nappage. Need to get re-purtified in a bit and get on down to St. Paul’s. I have a feelin’ if’n we’re not there by three-thirty at the latest we won’t get a seat. Oh and the rain seems to have gone around us for now but we’re promised rain tonight and all day tomorrow. We shall see.

Well, for the first time since 1961, I am accordion-less. My sister just left with it - it’s going to a girl in Pennsylvania.

I have played it in ages, but it was always there. Now it isn’t. Kinda weird. I’ll get over it.

We had formed such a high opinion of you. I guess “the truth will come out”.
:dubious:

flytrap, an occasional visit to McBurgerland is allowable, as long as one doesn’t make a habit of it.

{{Butters}}. Could be anemia, if it persists go see the doc again.

FCM, so accordian’s gone and glass is going. How about the doors?

Spent the afternoon help to hand out soccer uniforms to a variety of kids (there parents had already paid the fees) from 4 years old to kids nearly as big as me. Thinking seriously about triple steakburger at Steak-n-Shake.

Still have to paint the closet wall, probably work up the ambition tomorrow (or maybe not).

All y’all take care and I’ll catch you in the next MMP.

As I predicted, that was one large and in charge memorial for Jim Purks. There was a hyuuuuuuuuuuge crowd on hand. Good thing for us we got there around three-fifteen and took a seat. As it was we were squeezed in tight. A very good soloist sang If I Can Help Somebody. If ever a song fit anyone that song fits Jim. I kind of lost it while she was singin’. The reception was really nice. Lots of munchies, punch, lemonade and of course wine. We drank a glass of merlot to Jim as that was his favorite wine.

Oh and I drug the biiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can down to the road for pickup tomorrow.

I think I’ve had quite enough excitatement for one day.

In a wierd sort of way a crowded funeral is a comfort. That means that the guest of honor was well loved and well remembered. It was like that at my dad’s funeral. The church was full up, and it’s not small either.

swampie, I’ll pray for you and your friend’s family.

If anyone’s interested in the details of my adventure yesterday, I started a new thread elsewhere in this subforum.

Moooom, I would probably break the glass into small pieces and put it in repurposed plastic or metal containers and seal with duct tape much like I dispose of insulin needles.

{{{butters}}}, feel better soon.

metal mouse, we’re getting a Steak N Shake across from the Nissan plant here in town. I may add that to my drive thru rotation.

Talked to Sis and Dad. Sis will be up in a couple of weeks with part of the puppy crew. Chores are done and I’m chilling with a sleepy pup on my lap.

Worked, came home, having a beer. Making a pork stir fry with soba noodles for dinner. Tomorrow is my Firday, and the start of my mid-weekedn.

Perfect Rum and Pepsi recipe:
Pour generous tot of rum in glass.
Pour Pepsi down sink.
Enjoy rum!

Nettie, Glad you’re OK. I used to do plasma donation, and apart form an arm leak, never had a problem.

And Flytrap, :stuck_out_tongue:

I understand most people do fine. The only explanation that really makes any sense is that they didn’t put back as much as they took out and my volume got too low.

There is no such thing as enough coasters; just ask Cedar Point!

Sorry – I have a one-track mind. Unless we’re talking racing coasters and then two tracks. But still ------

My late FIL used to recycle for fun and profit. The place he took his glass required it be sorted by color and broken. He had a couple cans special for the practice and basically smashed everything by layers with a large sledge-hammer. I don’t know why but the image of him standing in the garage breaking glass like someone would churn butter just flashed through my brain.

Got 9 hours in irk so using my day off wasn’t a bust. Now to chill and sleep.
