Yet another song ID (most likely from musical)

Tonight I watched the movie All For Nikki. In the very beginning, the song Delilah by Tom Jones was playing. There is something about the tune/rhythm of the first few verses of that song that made me think of another song similar in those aspects, and I spent the whole movie and beyond trying to pull it off the tip of my mind. At first I was thinking it was a villan song from a (most likely non-Disney) animated movie, breifly thought it was an introductory song for one of The Letter People (but Youtube didn’t deliver anything) and now I’m thinking it is more of a lament, some character singing about failure at something. I can almost, but not quite, hear some of the words.
Help?

Minor key with brisk triplets.

Something Chim-Chim-Cher-ee?

Several of the songs in Little Shop of Horrors have similar riffs in the background. Most closely is Now (It’s Just the Gas).

It is something like the “DAH dah dah dah, dah dah DAH dah dah dah” pattern. Still almost seeing the scene–maybe somebody challenging a bad guy more powerful than them and being slapped down, sung by the bad guy? Again, pretty sure animated, but not Disney.

In the glass I saw a strange reflection; was that lonely woman really me? Those were the days my friend, we thought they’d never end; we’d sing and dance forever and a day; we’d live the life we choose, we’d fight and never lose…

Appreciate the attempt, but it is 99.999 percent likely an original soundtrack song for a movie (less likely TV episode). Stand-alone songs are a non-starter.

The third line of the verses has the melody and chords of Bésame Mucho.
Edited to say never mind if it’s not a standalone song.

Is it this? It is Disney, but it’s what came to mind.

Finally figured it out–a scene from an episode of American Dad. (So not an original song.)

**This **is what I immediately thought of:
