I went to Costco and got a 48-pack of Cottonelle last week.
And just why is it that people rush out and get milk, bread and toilet paper around here when it snows? Are they planning to make French toast and have diarreah?
In a way, it’s good that we’ve gotten this much snow this year, since it’s my last winter here for at least two years. Current conditions, US Embassy Colombo, Sri Lanka: 32C, chance of showers late. I’ll be there in a month and a half.
Snow’s fine, just not for me. The coldest I like it is about 60F. Below that, I get chilled and my lips start chapping. But then again, I’m from California, so I’m warped by definition.
Well, I don’t want it to be 80, but I don’t want a foot of snow either. You might understand if you see how far we have to walk from the boat to the showers…
OK, MADs, dawn is near. Time to look out your windows and tell us what you’ve got on the ground!
Here in Chesapeake Beach, the forecast was for mostly rain overnight, and rain is what we’ve got. Hasn’t made much of a dent in the snow left over from last time, but that’s on people’s lawns, and doesn’t matter. The roads are clear out thisaway.
But things are just warming up, er cooling down, well, you know what I mean. As the 4:45am update of the winter storm warning says:
Light snow, temperature 31.1, ground and driveway covered. Newspaper delivery man has thoughtfully left the paper in the street, where it’s been run over a few times.
At the Inner Harbor, it’s snowing lightly with about 1.5" on the flat surfaces of the boat. The weather guys said we’ve gotten 2-3". I didn’t bring spare shoes, so that’s not good. I’m wondering if my flight Monday morning will go…
Just got back from a quick run to Annapolis. Roads over here have the occasional slick spot, but so far are in pretty decent shape. Maybe 1" on the front steps when I returned. But it’s coming down steadily.
But I’m at the SE corner of the MADzone, so I’m expecting those to the N and W of DC are getting more snow than I am.
9:15AM. Temperature right at the freezing line (or maybe above).
2-3 inches overnight which didn’t start until after midnight. Still coming down steady but not heavily: a fine powdery snow. Roads are clear but wet, if you know what I mean.
