Speaking as Diogenes the Cynic, I totally agree. I was also positive that she was dead, although I never thought that Ricci guy was the perp. I’m really glad she’s alive and I’m happy for the parents. I just hope she hasn’t been fucked up for life by the experience, and I hope this “Emmanuel” prick spends the next eighty years in the worst fucking prison they can find. I also hope that guards will make sure all the other cons know he’s a “short eyes.”

For the record, I had no idea of the religious beliefs of the Smart family, and had I been aware of them it wouldn’t have changed my reaction. Trying to drag some religious bigot motive into this is exceedingly lame.
