No, all that Esprix was saying was that if Thaidog is going to petition for an unbanning, then he needs to do so with the Administrators of the SDMB only.
Whether he apologizes to Esprix is irrelevant (unless, for some reason, an apology to anyone is part of the reinstatement agreement; regardless, though, that’s still a decision made only by the Administrators of the SDMB).
Esprix was just trying to let you know that he plays no part whatsoever in deciding any policy around these here parts. Whether the decisions be about bannings, unbannings, the layout of the SDMB, or anything else that falls outside the realm of a regular poster, he doesn’t have a say. Period.
There was no drama in his posts in this thread; he was just setting the record straight. If you have further questions about the policies of the SDMB, please go and read the threads in About This Message Board.

I always got the impression that Thaidog was a fairly sane guy during the daytime, then after work he’d get totally drunk out of his mind and start posting. The execrable typing, the incoherent sentences, the smug attempts at good-ol’-boy humor, the obliviousness to what others were saying, the overblown reactions to petty slights coupled with utter unwillingness to acknowledge his own offenses: it all seemed to me to point in that direction.
Thanks, Skip. I know you are trying to help. And Esprix, I wasn’t saying that you have the power to unban. I know that. That whole “member” thing under your name lets me know that. I know the rules guys, I have been around for a little while. I just don’t post much.
But that wasn’t what I was trying to communicate here. I noticed that you (Esprix) in particular were pretty vocal at the end of the thread. I believe that you (still Esprix) even started a countdown. Seems pretty clear to me that you (Esprix yet again) were offended.
What I was trying to say is that emailing Esprix couldn’t bloody well hurt. It would have step in the right direction. Since he wouldn’t be able to apologize to everyone until reinstated, he could have apologized to at least one person who was offended. It would be a sign to that one person that he really did give a shit, and was contrite. I was offering him some friendly advise on how to make some attempt at amends as he is currently able in his banned status.
The “drama” comes in when Esprix starts to talk about the damnable non-existant clique and act aghast at being singled out. I singled you out because I knew you were pissed, and quite frankly…come on man! You are used to being singled out here. You’re high profile, friend! Thus, I didn’t think it would lead to you accusing me of accusing you of being in “the Clique” or having secret admin powers or something. I admit in hindsight I don’t know what the fuck I could have been thinking, as now here I am thrashing in the Pit with Esprix instead of helping some people out. Momentary lapse in judgement. I doubt it will happen again.
And damn is it hard to relurk once you get started posting. At least I am going out of town for a few days soon, and will be gone long enough that this drops off the front page.

So, um, I guess we need to set a date, and rent a forum. I’m thinking we can have the wedding in MPSIMS, then have the reception here in the BBQ Pit, being as how that’s where you proposed and all. Plus, since someone is bound to get drunk and start flaming people, we’d be in the right place for it.
