In the “So am I being a friend or an asshole here?” thread here in The Pit, red_dragon60 lamented about an underage female friend of his who was drinking and getting involved in risky situations. Out of the blue, your response was:

Several people also asked you to clarify your “sucking cocks” comment, since you feigned innocence. Sadly, that explanation has not been forthcoming in that thread.

So one would think that would have been the end of it. Sadly, t’wasn’t.

In the “Witness child abuse in almost real time” thread (which didn’t exactly get glowing reviews), Clark K hijacked the thread by calling you an idiot for such an inane and ill-conceived thread. I agreed with him about your general idiocy, reminding you that we were still waiting for you in the first thread. (Should I have continued the hijack? Euty says no, so for that I’ll apologize.) Your reply?

I’ve had the thought before that some people make posts by repeatedly throwing a cat onto the keyboard, and (as an optional step) running the results through a spellchecker.

I’m not completely sure why that thought rises up again now. It seems connected with the letters d, n, f, and a couple t’s, but it’s all very murky. I think I’ll sleep on it and see what resolves.

And believe me, when I say that, I say it conclusively. I’ve read every single one of his posts. I did it last night in response to his challenge to me to find an example of his ‘jerkiness,’ but the boards went screwy as I was finishing up so I saved it to a .txt file and went to sleep. Seems Esprix’s done what was necessary at this point.

He’s asking for clemency now, though. He’s clearly in over his head at this point, the pileon can only get worse, and you know there’s really nothing he can say to make anything better. Can he be given a fresh start?

Nothing But Net, I’d advise you to start making nice, and make it good. A more thorough apology would help as well. Trust me, you won’t last long around here with all these posters AND TubaDiva already pissed at you. Good luck.

I’m sorry, but taking into consideration some of your previous posts, I don’t think you deserve to be treated with decency. You seem to think it’s funny to act like an insolent asshole, pretending that it’s everyone else who’s being stupid. First of all, when I clicked up this thread, I didn’t expect to see a novella (hence the observation: don’t you have anything better to do?), which I felt was a masterful piece of editing, not to mention self-serving. You left out a number of intervening comments. Considering it was an attempt to make yourself look good at my expense, you probably succeeded. Personally, I would have just posted links to the threads in question, with minor explanation, and let everyone make up their own mind.

Secondly, everything I have posted was never personal, it was just business. If you have seen the Godfather movies you will understand what I mean by this.

Third, although TubaDiva warned me (fairly, I admit) in this thread to be more civil, I thought it presumptuous of you to invoke her name in requesting a reponse from me. She didn’t request an explanation. I could have just as well said: God and I are awaiting your explanation, Esprix. BTW, Tuba and I have exchanged a couple of e-mails regarding the situation and she is OK with me for now.

There, I have fulfilled the obligations of creating a list. So let’s get on to the nitty-gritty:
In the thread that started all this, I only offered a potential theory as to what was going on. That could only be confirmed by Red or not himself. Mind you, this was before I knew the ages of the parties involved. I certainly don’t think a fourteen year old should be getting drunk and naked with adults, or anyone for that matter. But then jester singles me out with a hearty “Fuck Off”. No explanation, no nothing. The only thing I could think of he objected to was that my reply wasn’t ugly enough to be pit material. Believe me, I have seen much worse here. Aside to jester: if you tell someone to FO at least provide a reason for your disagreement.

From thereon I saw that this was only going to progress into a bitch thread, and unfortunately it only got worse. I will admit I was being jerky here (and so far, the only one to admit so), but there was enough of it coming around from all sides. After Tuba’s warning I decided there was no more reason to even be involved. It wasn’t worth it.

Then a couple of days later, I started the ‘child abuse’ thread. This is an issue I am passionate about. My OP was vague, but I was in a rush because I wanted to get the word out to as many people who still had an opportunuity to see the program. Hey, you could easily discern what I was talking about from the OP. You either saw the show, or you didn’t or couldn’t. I tried to provide a link ASAP, but I was referring to a TV show, not a website, and you knew what I was upset about, or you didn’t. It’s just like when I choose not to bother with Dungeons & Dragons threads or those about movies I haven’t seen, I have nothing to offer, don’t really care, so why bother? But you elected to carry on your vendetta in what I consider a totally serious situation. The thread was not ‘poorly recieved’ as you said, there were a lot of valid responses. Euty called this to your attention, and you opened this thread.

So here we are. I’ve apologized. The level of jerkiness is not inversely proportional to your post count. I have been a jerk, and so have you, and probably everyone else on these boards at some time or another. If you didn’t appreciate my previous apology, so be it. But that’s all you going to get. If you want to follow me around the boards and harrass me, go ahead. I don’t care if you are my friend or not. But just get over it, will you?

I’ve gotta disagree with you here. I’ve seen the first two Godfather movies repeatedly, and I haven’t the faintest idea what you mean by this. (I mean, I catch the reference, but I don’t see the connection at all.)

Anyway, NBN, I’ve read the threads in question. My unsolicited advice is to ignore all this, and just move on. I thought you were sort of jerky in those threads, but you’ve apologized. If you’re nice from now on, almost no one will remember this in a few weeks. If you’re not, well, then the problem will solve itself…

In the first thread linked in the OP, the ISSUE had nothing to do with Esprix being gay, yet you brought up the question of who would talk about sucking cocks first. That’s getting personal when it isn’t part of the issue.
