OK. Anywho, I never posted to one of his threads. I didn’t want to take away from the mystery by telling you that Thaidog is actually quite sedate and normal IRL. I haven’t really talked to him in quite some time. Several months, in fact. We work on opposite 3rd shift schedules.
I in no way take any responsibility (or credit) for anything he may have posted here. I winced when he used the dreaded “f” word in his last thread, having a feeling that that could be his last hurrah. I’m not really embarrased though. I thought he was funny as hell, by and large.
Let’s see, what else…I dunno. I know he got esprix’s ass up because of the “f”. And I understand that. That word sits right next to the illustrious “n”. I’ve read those threads, I don’t think Thaidog has. I imagine you’re reading this Thai, and if you are, do search around for some of esprix’s (and other’s) threads on the subject. Then maybe if you want to come back, do this: Compose a nice, serious letter to both esprix and the mods. I certainly won’t speak for them whether that is enough to let you back in. They quite possibly won’t.
(Oh, and esprix you vanity-searching monster ;):

OK, I’ll slip back into lurker’s row in a second. But I wanted to give you all an update. Having seen my post, Thaidog called me a few hours ago. We talked about a great many things. Regrets, successes, simple pleasures, etc. I won’t get into any of the details here. However, there is one thing that I feel I can share openly, and that he did make very clear:
He really does fucking hate those “rocks in a box”.
I’m imagining the thread title being shouted at a really weird protest before the White House.

Um, he wouldn’t owe me anything. I have no sway over who stays, goes, or returns. The only thing he would need to do to get back would be to contact the Mods/Admins (although I personally think he would have zero chance of being let back).
Now, he might consider an apology to the entire board for his comments should he be able to return, but that would be up to him. Why you would single me out in this instance I don’t understand.

Fair enough. I would agree with you that an apology to the entire board would be in order, but a reinstatement would have to occur in order for that to happen in the first place. An email to you could help in that venture. Healthy communications with you, who was in that thread. And clearly offended. As a SDMB veteran, I have little doubt that if so inclined, you might have the opportunity to lubricate the gears of reinstatement for everyone’s favorite Southeast Asian canine torcher.
Anyway, that’s why. No persecution intended.
Where are you getting this? I hold absolutely no sway whatsoever with the administration of this board to influence having someone banned or unbanned, other than the same power we all have - that little “Report this post to a Moderator” link. (Trust me, if I did have any power, things would change around here! ) Neither Lynn nor anyone else ever asks me for advice, and I don’t offer it, 'cause it’s not my business. (Basically, there is no Clique[sup]TM[/sup].)
Also, it looks like a lot of people were offended by his remarks, not just me, so, again, I’m not sure why you noticed me and no one else, and that’s why I said (IMHO only) that he ought to consider a board-wide apology for that reason.
Besides, personally, I barely noticed him at all - I just wanted to help stomp out a little ignorance on his part.
