Oh, yes, I understand that, however, this wasn’t may point - I qualified the comment with: “we mentally work from what we consider ‘normal’. This may or may not coincide with what is the societal norm.”
Look, it’s really no big deal. I’m irritated by it, but I have seen this sort of thing enough times, from enough decent people, that I understand that it’s just not the sort of thing that registers for straight people. We all have different life experiences and we act based on them, and straight folk don’t have the experience of being in a sexual minority that is often completely ignored. You can’t be faulted for that, but I like to speak up and make it clear why it’s hurtful. No harm intended, no harm done.
It means there’s hope for me yet!!!
