You get one free food for the rest of your life - What'll it be?

I’d say beer, if I could have the added benefit that I’d never get overly drunk from it. A little tipsy, fine.

Heck, even if I didn’t get at all tipsy, I’d looooooove to drink as much beer as I wanted and not get fat, not have my blood sugar get all wonky, and not get drunk. If I wanted tipsiness, I could just have a glass of wine or something.

It’s tempting to say cheese, but I already eat as much cheese as I can handle and don’t feel like it affects my health badly, whereas beer is definitely something I don’t drink as much as I’d like because of the health issues.

I was going to say eggs, but they’re not unhealthy.

So I’m going with bread.

Cheese!

Prime Rib Roast

Red velvet cake from Dimples. I could never have too much of that.

bacon

Gotta go with cheese. Cheese is why I’m not a vegan. Well, now fish also, but for many years it was all down to cheese. I love cheese so much…

What were we talking about again?

Ice cream. I’ve got a thing for ice cream.

Pizza. I love pizza, and if I could afford to eat it every day of my life, I would. In fact, when I could afford to do so, I did.

So the food is “free,” but is it free? Or do I have to procure and pay for it myself?

ETA: Because that’s what I thought the subject line meant at first…

Is it ‘free’ as in preparation and cost, or ‘free’ as in zero-calories, and zero-cholesterol?

Oh, and I assume that this, by your rules, refers to whole dishes, not its component ingredients. Would any variant on the dish be covered? For example, suppose I choose fettucini Alfredo. Would that count fettucini Alfredo with broccoli and chicken as well? To both homemade and Marie Callendar’s frozen dinner versions as well? With or without nutmeg? Since it’s made with parmesan, would added parmesan on top be covered or not?

French fries. I’d pick poutine, but you can’t get it within 100 miles of here (a conservative estimate, given that I live in southern Virginia and haven’t seen it outside of upstate New York and Quebec), so I’ll trade the occasional calories from the curds n’ gravy for the ability to grab a big sack of Micky D’s or Five Guys whenever I like.

It’s a line from Stand By Me. It’s Vern’s answer when they are deciding what food they would choose if they could only have one food ever for the rest of their lives.

I myself have trouble choosing favorites so I stole Vern’s answer. If it were free though, I’d eat a lot more ahi tuna.

Oh this is hard…sweet or savory? Homemade Mac & Cheese or Tiramisu? hmmmm

Ok, Tiramisu it is.

Nah, you gotta buy it yourself. ‘Free’ as in, you can eat all you want and not have to worry about any negative effects.

In general, whole dishes (plus variants) are allowed (I thought I made this clear in my cheeseburger example in the OP). You must submit specific examples for an official ruling though. For your fettucini Alfredo (mmmmm, by the way), I’ll allow the stated variations.

Ack, sorry about that; I shoulda got that reference. Just watched SBM last month.
mmm

Probably steak. I could eat it many times a week and not tire of it. Taco’s would be a close second.

I haven’t gotten sick of Ghiradelli’s brownie mix in…maybe a year now? So that’s it. Brownies by Ghiradelli!

Fried Chicken/pizza/fried chicken/pizza …can not decide. Pizza with fried chicken on it?

Oh, crap. I thought you meant “free” as in costs nothing, and has no negative effects. Well now that money is not an issue, meaning I won’t save any cash with my choice, I am moving rapidly toward cheeseburger. Question: Do you get full from the food?
