You Stink But I Love You

Alas, a song I couldn’t find on Napster. It was by Billy and The Boingers. Granted, it was Sunday night at 10:30 when I tried, but I don’t think I’m going to find it anyway.

Anyone remember this song? It came as a bonus to one of the Bloom County books. It was printed on a really thin sheet of vinyl and meant to be played on a turntable.

Also, if you have it, would you mind converting it to an MP3 and letting me know when you’re going to be on Napster?

Thanks.

HOLY SHIT! I remember that! I had that too! I could even play it as I had a turntable… and no I’m sorry… I have no idea what happened to it, although I am SURE the book is still in a bag in my parents basement, as is most of my old stuff. Maybe the record is still with it, in fact i’m sure I wouldnt have thrown it away knowing my obsession for bloom county. I should not disrespect Bloom County that way, in a moldy basement, one of the best cartoons there ever was.

Look up:
Mucky Pup “U Stink” or
Billy and the Boingers “U Stink But I Luv U”

I found several on napster. Do you guys remember that it was a contest? Real bands sent in songs and Mucky Pup won with “U Stink.” They even showed the video on 120 Minutes a couple of times. Serious flashback.

I used to have that record. Fairly amusing I would say.

But if you really want to be cool, I think you should come up with the McDonald’s song that came in the same format. Square cheap vinyl, this one came in the newspaper.

“Big Mac, McDLT, a Quarter Pounder with some cheese. . .”

I know this song by heart:
Big Mac, McDLT, a quarter pounder with some cheese,
filet o’ fish, a hamburger, a cheeseburger, a happy meal,
McNuggets, tasty golden french fries, regular and larger size
and salads, chef or garden, or a chicken salad oriental
big big breakfast, egg McMuffin, hot hot cakes and sausage
Maybe biscuits bacon egg and cheese, or sausage, danish, hash browns too
And for dessert hot apple pie, and sundaes three variaties
A soft-serve cone, three kinds of shake, and chocolaty chip cookies
and to drink a Coca-cola, Diet coke, or Orange Drink
A Sprite, a coffee, decaf too, lowfat milk also an orange juice,
I love McDonalds, good times great place, and i get this all in one place.
Some things you never forget. No matter how hard you try.

I swear, I thought this thread was about me.

I remember this song too! Wasn’t there another song on that square plastic? What was its name?

My username is lolagranola. What are the chances I don’t have that recording?

That being said, I don’t have a way to convert my 45 to MP3. Never shall the two technologies meet, at least in the household.

Now it’s driving me nuts. What was that song backed with? I’ve got it packed up right now, and don’t feel like looking for it. Anyone remember?

It was: “I’m a Boinger” b/w “U Stink But I Love U”. (Actually, it has a picture of a heart, not the word “love”.) The writing credits are S. Dallas for side one and B. Catt for “U Stink”.

One side was U Stink but I Love You and the other side was I’m a Boinger. I have no idea which side was supposed to be the “A” side and which side was supposed to be the “B” side.

Found 'em both on Napster this morning. I guess the pickin’s are better on Monday morning than on Sunday night.

I think the B-side was “I’m a Boinger”.

Note to self: Next time you get into a IM conversation, take a second to finish posting the reply first.

You’re in dreamland again Little Nemo. I have the 45 right here, and it shows that side one is “I’m A Boinger”, side two is “U Stink”.

My delay in responding makes my reply look stupid. When I started the last post was lolagranola’s and no one had remembered the name of the other song on the 45. Rattling my neurons for a few seconds, I came up with it and started to post it in my small attempt to fight ignorance.

Unfortunately, I was sidetracked by an IM conversation and by the time I hit “send reply” you and rastahomie had already named the song. So my response was not intended as an answer to your question about what side of the 45 it was on; I was just using B-side as a generic term for the other song on a 45.
