Your 10 Worst Movies of the Decade

Just bad. But, I admit to still having it on my hard drive just to watch the dancers at the Caribbean club.

That horrible Will Ferrell flick - you know, the one with NASCAR? Ah, Talladega Nights. That was execrable.

Looking at his filmography, oy, he’s made a ton of bad movies. Semi-Pro was also terrible.

  1. Evan Almighty
  2. Terminator: Salvation
  3. Star Wars: Attack of the Clones
  4. High Tention
  5. Max Payne
  6. Friday the 13th remake
  7. The Tale of Despereux (not looking up the spelling)
  8. A Ewe Boll movie where the main character is named Farmer. Don’t remember the name.
  9. Austin Powers: Goldmember
  10. Alexander

Obviously, this is restricted to movies I’ve seen.

The few?
The movie made $708 million worldwide…obviously more than a few people enjoyed it.

I am pretty choosy about what I see on the big screen and I rarely see something that I really hate. The worst one this decade was probably Matrix Reloaded. Surprisingly I found Revolutions quite enjoyable. I also mildly enjoyed Attack of the Clones and I think Revenge of the Sith is the second best of the six after ESB. I agree with everyone that Phantom Menace is an abomination; possibly the worst film I have ever seen at a theater.

In no particular order:
The Golden Compass
Scary Movie 2
De-Lovely
Hostel
Righteous Kill
Master & Commander: The Far Side of the World
The New World
The Fog
Swordfish

Ok, if Transformers was a 10 (from 1 to 10) on the bad scale, Transformers 2 was a 100.

This needs to be emphatically seconded. I think Bay made the movie specifically to be insulting to the audience. And I actually can tolerate the first one.

Decepticon balls, indeed.

I meant to say one of the few on this forum.

I enjoy most of the parts with the robots, but any scenes with only humans are terrible in both movies.

*Translymania *sucked so bad it should count for all 10.

10. Evan Almighty - Felt a lot like a straight to DVD sequel
9. Garfield - Bill Murray is not Garfield!
8. The Cat In The Hat - I’m so sick of old comedians being “zany”.
7. The Tuxedo - Jackie Chan. Just Jackie Chan
6. Twilight - Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh. So much angst.
5. Dragonball Evolution - This didn’t even seem like a Dragonball movie.
4. The Game Plan - The Rock and Madison Pettis. Pure torture.
3. Eragon - “I HAVE SKIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLS!” That’s really all that needs to be said.
2. The Happening - No Mr. Shyamalan, that’s not how biology works.
1. Toronto Stories - I have seen one good Canadian film. This was not it.

Quadruple ditto.

Plus, Bagger Vance, The Happening and Lady in the Water, V for Vendetta, and almost all the comic book movies including Iron Man. Ugh.

 I would list this among the TOP films of the decade! Maybe it’s not for everyone, but it hardly deserves to be in the company of the other films you listed.

I was sufficiently aggravated that I started a thread about that movie back in 2002, and I almost never start threads.
Checking, I find out Star Trek: Insurrection was in 1998, but I’d be willing to bend space and time itself to include it in any decade’s list of the worst films.

That’s too bad. When I rewatch this movie, which I do frequently I usually START it at about the half hour mark.

I can’t believe no one has yet mentioned the utter awfulness of Dungeons & Dragons. We went to see it knowing it was a bad movie, and we were still disappointed and horrified by how awful it was.

And it didn’t have the decency to be campy (except for “give me the ROD!”) No, it was a fest of so-bad-that-it’s-bad acting and plot combined with nearly breathtaking (for the time) CGI.

Is it just me, or did I not see Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on anyone’s list? Not only was it a horrible movie, it also besmirched the reputation of a classic franchise. That hurts twice as much.

I can think of only two movies that I’ve actually seen that deserve to be on the decade’s shitlist:

What the Bleep Do We Know
Dogville

Well, Attack of the Clones was worse and affected an equally cool previous series.

I liked Indy 4. I would have ranked them:

  1. Last Crusade
  2. Raiders
  3. Crystal Skull
  4. Temple of Doom
