What would your dream talk show panel be? I’ve been watching the Dick Cavett DVD’s and he had a panel with Janis Joplin, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., Chet Huntley, and Raquel Welch, which was at least diverse within its genre.
Who would your host be and who would be the guests?
Mine:
David Susskind, w/ Jesus H. Christ, Mohammed, Norman Mailer, Chris Hitchens, and Christine O’Donnell (or Candy Darling).
Bill Maher as host, interviewing Jesus H. Christ and Mohammad - with Adolf Hitler being the surprise guest at the end of the show.
Musical guests: The original Village People singing Y.M.C.A.
I wish the old PBS program STEVE ALLEN’s MEETING OF MINDS was available on DVD. For those unfamiliar with it, Steve Allen wrote and produced this show. It featured a panel discussion with Steve and historical figures. One episode had Theodore Rooosevelt, Thomas Paine, St Thomas Aquinas and Cleopatra. Another had Charles Darwin, Gallileo, Emily Dickinson and Attila the Hun. The scripts are available but I would like to see the shows again.
