Your Favorite SEC Football Team

Even if your favorite team is outside the Southeastern Conference, which of the SEC teams do you like best?

I’m from Michigan and attended University of Michigan. However, I lived just south of Lexington from 2003-2008 so I went with the Wildcats. Never saw them play, but they went from pathetic to decent during my stay.

Plus, rooting for the color blue was already in my blood.

I’m struggling to answer this. It’s like trying to name my favorite team in the National League.
I guess I’ll say LSU, because what’s where my finger poked when I closed my eyes and jabbed my fist foward.

I suspect the choice that is not there (I hate every team in the SEC) would have got the most votes.

I chose Florida, and Auburn would have been my next choice. I could not have answered this poll if you asked about College B-Ball. I dislike all the SEC Teams, especially UK and UF.

Vanderbilt, because at 0-8 in football conference play they’re the only school where you can be absolutely certain they’re not cheating or going to be on probation within the next 5 years. The C in SEC might as well stand for “corruption”.

And that’s why I voted for Vanderbilt.

That theory works for me!

Roll Tide, baby. National Champs.

Go Gators!

Vandy.

Jay Cutler. Least likely to be cheating. Least full of themselves. Least proud of redneck ignorance. Actually interested in education.

You’d THINK so, but I went to Columbia in the late Seventies and early Eighties. Our football and basketball teams were so bad, and the games so sparsely attended, you’d THINK our programs had to be squeaky clean. But even we had a few mini-scandals in recruiting!

If Columbia (which didn’t even offer athletic scholarships!) wasn’t pure as the driven snow, it’s hard to imagine who might be. Maybe the University of Chicago had the right idea.

~Glory, glory to old Georgia!~

Yeah, I’m starting to wish I voted for Vanderbilt now.

Go Cocks!

Yeah, this should’ve been an option. I have no favorite.

Joe

What he said.

I voted for Vandy as my “hate the SEC” protest vote.

I picked Mississippi State. ESPN doesn’t overhype Mississippi State.

I’m a Big 10 guy, but have lived in Nashville for a decade. For that, and the reasons above: Go 'Dores!

Interestingly, the local media (TV/newspapers) don’t seem to be aware that there are other football conferences in the NCAA. It’s quite odd.

There have been 12 National Champions since they went to the BCS. Six have been won by the SEC, including the last four straight. After that, the Big 12 has won 2, then four other minor conferences have sneaked in a win a piece. The SEC has NEVER lost a BCS championship game that they’ve participated in. Maybe the local media know what they’re talking about?
