Your favorite The Who song

“Won’t Get Fooled Again” is one of those classic rock tracks that just never gets old. Well, at least not for me.

It’s a tribute to the Who that people are nominating about 30 different songs here

And we still haven’t had Sparks, I don’t think.

At one time, “1921” was my favorite song by the Who.

Now, it’s “Love, Reign O’re Me”, “Behind Blue Eyes” and “I’m One”.

If solo versions by Townshend count also, I’d add “Drowned” from The Secret Policeman’s Ball and mention his solo acoustic versions of “I’m One”.

See Me, Feel Me
A Quick One, While He’s Away

Saw The Who last year in Columbus. Terrible show. :frowning:

he two that immediately came to mind were “Behind Blue Eyes” and “Eminence Front.” I’ll go with the latter since iTunes says I listen to it a lot more.

Slip Kid

If I had to pick one, “Drowned”.

Honorable mention to “Relay”, “Heaven and Hell”, “Long Live Rock” and “Let’s See Action”.

If I may add, “Dreaming from the Waist”, and “Blue Red & Grey”.

Sadly half the original band have passed.

Stick with recorded music and youtube videos (just skip the ad) …

I would have to say either “Pinball Wizard” or “Baba O’Riley”. But those are so obvious… it’s more fun to nominate great tunes that are not so well known, such as “Sunrise” or the already-mentioned “So Sad About Us”, “Amazing Journey/Sparks”, and “Go To the Mirror Boy”.

Post #41, although it might not be the one you mean.

There are so many great Who songs, almost all of them, but for me it’s without doubt “Behind Blue Eyes“. Great dynamics, the band, especially Moon and Townshend, explodes at the end. Great lyrics too.

My favorite is Go to the Mirror.

Awesome guitar and drums!

Utterly shocked that no one voted for the ultimate Who car song from Magic Bus:

My Bucket T (Bucket T)
Bucket T (Bucket T)
My Bucket T (Bucket T)
My Bucket T (Bucket T)
T T T… Bucket bucket bucket…

Makes Jan & Dean sound like Sonny & Cher.*

*and yeah, I know it was originally a Jan & Dean song.

“Armenia City In The Sky” with “My Generation” a second…

“The Real Me.”

It’s my go-to, turn-it-up-until-my-ears-bleed song when I’m in a bit of a funk - Daltrey’s voice is in fine fettle letting rip with pent-up anger, disappointment, despair, longing, and heart-breaking loneliness. Entwhistle is just a monster on bass, and Keith Moon manages both aggression and finesse on the drums. It was the first song I ever heard where the rhythm section played lead.

“Early Morning, Cold Taxi”, then. Or “Hall of the Mountain King”. I love *The Who Sell Out * so much. Drink at the Bag o’ Naaaaails!

The long jammin’ version of ‘My Generation’ from Live at Leeds is my fav.

“You Betta, You Better, You Bet”

or

“The Magic Bus”

Add “My Generation” to the above post.
