Baba O Reilly
Live version of My Generation from the remastered box set = really kicks it
I’d have to listen to both again, but I remember that I liked Townshend’s solo version of “Pure and Easy” better than the Who version. Both are very good, though.
I concur wholeheartedly and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.

My favorite? Depends on my mood.
Won’t get fooled again is frequently my #1, but then so’s I can see for miles and Behind blue eyes.
Baba O’Riley works too, if I’m recalling my High School days. Also, Teenage Wasteland (yes, there is such a song, written by Townsend and meant for Lifehouse, but got changed around a lot to become Baba.
Putting in a plug for the underrated Who By Numbers tracks; Slip Kid, Success Story, and How Many Friends.

Go to the Mirror
There are several Who songs I absolutely adore and always have/will (particularly “Pinball Wizard”, “See Me, Feel Me” (the Woodstock version), “Baba O’Riley”, “Behind Blue Eyes”, “The Real Me”, “The Punk And The Godfather”, “Love Reign O’er Me”, and “Slip Kid”), but my single favorite song vote would have to go to “The Song Is Over”. Grossly, GROSSLY underrated tune with, IMO, some of the best piano/synth work ever laid down on a Who track, and in turn great production. Warmed my heart to see another vote for it earlier.
I’ve loved pretty much the entire Who catalog since I was a teenager, to the point that naming one song as better than the others is nearly blasphemous to me. At the risk of going against the grain, I’m going to have to nominate “Cut My Hair” - it wasn’t their most rocking number, or the most technically amazing, and even on the album it was released on it’s a deep cut at best, but it’s one that spoke to me when I was a kid who didn’t fit in.
Honorable mention to the recordings of “Baby Don’t You Do It” and “Love Ain’t For Keepin’” with Leslie West on second guitar.
“Bargain” - love the guitar work
‘Won’t get fooled again’ for me.
But they have so many great songs…
+1
“The Kids Are Alright”. Moon doesn’t really do anything that he doesn’t do on any other song, but I like the way the drums just really drive this song.

Y’all missed the actual best Who song - "Dr. Jimmy’.
I Can See for Miles and Miles.
You Better You Bet is dead-ass last in the world-famous** Ponch8 Music Reading System**.
I used to like certain Who songs. I have heard them too many times and no longer enjoy them. Perhaps there is a Who song I haven’t heard that I would enjoy, but since I haven’t heard it, I don’t know.
