Your last Lost predictions

I haven’t seen a single episode of Lost, and really have no real desire to start watching. That being said, I’ve been saying for years that I hope this is the last scene, and if it is I will go buy every season on DVD the next day.

And since we’ve all suspected that the writers lurk here, we now know that they’ll toss a SS Minnow in there (just for the additional revenue that SubPlank represents).

I predict a somewhat acceptable and slightly disappointing conclusion. It will be hard as there has been 6 years of build up to completely satisfy and the show will be over but they are good writers so it will be enjoyable.

On the other hand this show and the writers have never really demonstrated any ability at all to conclude anything. They are fantastic at cliffhangers. Almost every episode is a cliffhanger and every season finally is a major one. So in order to tap their proven abilities they will have to rely on this talent.

The last five to seven min. major conclusions will happen after almost two hours of epic excitement. Thirty seconds till credits… Cliffhanger.

It is the only thing they know how to do.

the Oceanic 6 on the island leave on a plane…

the Oceanic 6 in the flash-sideways take off on a plane to go back to the island…

these two planes enter the time/space vortex at the same time and crash in mid-air…

screen fades to black, and the word “LOST” appears…

… My wife will fall asleep about 1 hour in.
… She’ll wake up during the news pissed off at me for having her sleep through the end of LOST.
… I’ll calmly (and rationally) explain to her about the miracle of Tivo.
… She’ll never get around to watching it, always preferring some random show about farming or somesuch.

As to the story? Haven’t the foggiest.

I would love it if this was actually the real ending.

How about Sayid AND Sawyer dying, one on each side to balance out?

Except instead of Sawyer, it will be … Tony Soprano.

I killed the thread. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to.

They tend to have some big surprise at the end of each season, so my guess for the big surprise at the end is that it isn’t the end :). Season 7!

Well, not really. My guess for the ending is that there will be some kind of time loop or endless repetition. Things will end with a scene at the plane crash (maybe happening slightly differently), or a scene as suggested repeating the Jacob/MIB conversation on the beach, but with replacements for the two of them.

One thing I’d like to see is some Jacob/MIB flashbacks to earlier events on the island, something like all the Jacob flashbacks at the end of season 5. It might be a good way to fill in some answers without just having characters explaining things.

I posted this in the disc ussion of the current episode, but I think that here would be more suitable.

Most of the main characters have issues with their father. Several killed their own father, or in Locke’s case, arranged for someone else to do it.

Smokey has got to be Jacob’s son.

Sorry if this speculation has already been made. I just know that I’ve not seen it before.

Weeeeell, if you really want to know . . .

Episode 15, “Across the Sea” (two weeks from now) is rumored to be exactly that: an entire episode consisting of Jacob/MIB flashbacks. And apparently it takes place a looooong time ago. So we may be getting a LOT of answers in one fell swoop, at least regarding the nature/motivations of the island’s resident mystery men.

I kinda called this one.
