I had a game type thread* before the Games forum go for about nine septillion replies. I’ve also had several get actually less than zero.
For the most part, I used to really get stoked when a thread went past the point where it had to show (1,2,3… last page). Now, I’m just happy if it gets replied to before the arguments start.
My longest (not counting the four mafia games I hosted on this board) was this thread about gay marriage, which is kind of ironic since I never actually went back to read it after the first post. The point in the OP had been made in the middle of another gay marriage thread, but someone in that thread (I think it was Starving Artist) refused to allow it to be discussed until he had restitution! for some grievance from someone earlier in the thread. I thought it was interesting, so I started the new thread.
As for shortest…there’s a lot of embarrassing or stupid ones that died after 2 or 3 posts. I wish this thread about books versus other written forms of storytelling had gone on longer, because it seemed interesting to me but no-one really cared apparently. Also this one about collectathon platformer video games (I still haven’t found a good one).
Is there an easy way to look up threads you’ve started (as opposed to just posted in)?
Anyway, at a total of 11 pages, the “Questions you’ve secretly always wanted to ask the other sex” thread is my clear winner. I’m actually kinda proud of that puppy.
Shortest: Looks like I’ve got at least 50 that got zero responses. (Hard to be sure – I’ve got a lot of mod posts that have no responses that shouldn’t be counted – they’re spam moves, etc., and were not meant to be responded to – so I was counting by hand.)
