Most favorite TV nerd?
Leonard on The Big Bang Theory. Not nearly as annoying as so many other TV nerds, and he’s got a hot wife.
Most favorite movie that came out in the Fifties?
The African Queen (1951). Bogart and Hepburn turn in fine performances in an action-adventure film.
Most favorite movie that came out in the Sixties?
The Lion In Winter (1968) Katherine Hepburn and Peter O’Toole, with a great supporting cast led by Anthony Hopkins - taut dialogue all the way through.

Time After Time just squeaks in, coming out in 1979. I saw it a dozen times in the theatre, and it is superb.
Most favorite movies of the 1980’a?
The Thing (1982)
Still my favorite movie of all time. The paranoia and tension still gives me chills even if the jump scares and grossness don’t anymore. And the Spiderhead thing still creeps me the fuck out.
I guess I’ll follow the trend we got going here, Most Fave 90’s movie?
Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle (1994) – biopic of Dorothy Parker starring Jennifer Jason Leigh. Critical reception was mixed, but I loved it. I could come up with several close runners up, though.
MF movie that came out in the first decade of the 21st century.
A Mighty Wind (2003). It was the first Christopher Guest mockumentary I saw, and it inspired me to look at his others. Loved it, and the others, and I still rewatch it.
Most favorite movie of the 2010s (so far)?
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010)
One of the very very few comic book movies that I absolutely love. It’s a masterpiece of humor, music, video game nostalgia, love. I love Edgar Wright. I love Knives Chow. I Love Romona Flowers. I’ll probably watch it again tonight.
Let’s have some fun now, shall we? Most favorite movie you would love to see to come out in the 2020’s.
A biopic, or even TV miniseries about the Gish sisters. A really good, well-researched one. There’s a young actress right now who only about 20, who would make a dynamite Lillian-- looks just like her, and is a good actress. Make this film while she is still young enough to play Lillian’s film years.
Oops. And the next one is, your favorite stage play. Can be a regular play or a musical.
A Chorus Line. Migosh, when I saw that at the Royal Alex in Toronto, I was blown away. It’s what got me into community theatre–not that I will be anything like the kids in that show. Still, I’d like to join in on “What I did for love” with my big bass voice, honed from years of church choir.

Right now it’s Art Garfunkel’s All I Know. I love the lyrics.
Favorite SF writer?
For wide ranging topics, it’s got to be Asimov.
Favorite music video from the 1980’s?
So many to choose from, but I think I’ll go with A-Ha’s “Take on Me.” Loved the rotoscoping.
Favorite Simpsons character?
Homer
Favorite Shakespearian adaptation on film?
West Side Story
Favorite chicken recipe? (Details, please, I’m bored and need to cook this weekend.)
S really basic chicken curry broccoli. You know: cans of soup, mayo, cheese right off the web. Served on rice, of course.
Favorite food to grill?
Redfish on the half-shell. You leave the skin on when you fillet the fish, season/marinate to taste, grill on high heat, and scoop the meat off the skin and onto plates with a large spatula. Dicard skin. Any scales that fall into the grill are quickly incinerated. It can be done with almost any medium to large fish you catch. The skin acts as a pan without anything sticking/burning to it.
Favorite grilled vegetable?
Corn on the cob. Then slather it in butter, mayo, pepper, paprika, and parmesan cheese yum!
Favorite use for corn.
