I’ve been a Gmail/Google Calendar/Google Drive/etc. user for several years, and these days I have a Pixel – which is Google’s (Android-based) smartphone. The app I use the most is the one where I log what I eat and drink: I update that 3-5 times a day, and there’s no web-based version. I also use Google Keep reminders quite a bit, for when it’s time to take my meds/supplements (five times a day). And I use Google Maps a lot when I’m in the car. I have long accepted Google’s integration into every aspect of my life…they are my overlords, and I know that they know that I know it!
I text pretty frequently with certain friends, but most of the time I’m at home and using Google Messages so I can read/respond via web browser (I am really bad at typing on a phone). So even though it’s a phone-dependent activity, texting is something I mostly do on my desktop computer or iPad. Likewise, I spend a lot of time on email and Facebook, but mostly via desktop/iPad. Because mostly I’m home.
Speaking of mostly being home, my friends cancelled yesterday because the wife wasn’t feeling well. And I was supposed to go hear some music tonight in D.C., but a little while ago the venue cancelled due to technical issues. And, I’ve been going to the office on Wednesdays, but the co-worker who also goes then might have to meet with the customer this Wednesday and therefore wouldn’t go to the office. Which means it wouldn’t be worth it for me to go, either. So, now there’s a chance I won’t leave my house again until Saturday evening.
I think the dog is behind all of this…I just haven’t figured out how…
I had to read that twice in order to grok that the cookies and muffins were for your mother and not the dog wash. ![]()
You are way more patient than I would have been! I hope your complaint (finally) results in some action.
