Your ONE favorite Simpsons episode

I love the Lisa babysitting Bart episode. Could totally relate to that one, and has some of the greatest lines… i love:

(from snpp.com)
Bart: May I have some more lima beans, please?
Lisa: Certainly. [gives him a few]
Bart: More than that.
Lisa: Certainly. [gives him more]
Bart: More. [gives him more]
More. [gives him more; Bart has a small pile of lima beans on
his plate]
More.
Lisa: Uh, maybe you should eat the ones you have.
Bart: I didn’t say I was gonna eat them. I just want to look at
them because they’re so gross. [pushes plate away]

also has the great Rod and Todd scene "Daddy says dice are wicked! We just go 1 space at a time. It’s less fun that way!!

and

Tourist: (after walking down loooong tunnel that just leads to Moe’s) Hey, this isn’t a faux dive. This is a dive!
Moe: You’re a long way from home, yuppie boy. I’ll start a tab.

and

Bart calling all the delivery, etc to annoy lisa “I’m here to pick up the Ambassado to Ghana” “Well he’s not here, no one’s here, youve all been tricked!”
“Why would the ambassador do such a thing?”

marge-“Homer! You’re in the FOUNTAIN!”
everyone laughs at him as he tries to avoid the water jets
homer- “Dont laugh at me, I was once like you!”

Erg… such a tough choice… but if I must choose only one

Then it’s Krusty Gets Kancelled.

Cape Feare for me, too.

Although other ones that stand out for me are visual homages - Bart goes to France as an exchange student (driving past all those famous paintings-as-landscape, like Wheatfield with Crows) & Bart on the skids, selling his blood - and pausing outside Hopper’s *Nighthawks *diner

Boy you could practically throw at dart at seasons three to five and hit an episode that I could think of as the greatest in the right mood, but for now I’ve got to say ** The PTA Disbands**. I think it’s the last perfect episode before The Simpsons started sliding into mediocrity.

Only compared to itself, take away its peak and we would lose the frustration for it not being anywhere near what it used to be, and be able to happily consider it one of the funniest shows around.

$pringfield (Burn’s Casino). Gamblor. Burns getting all Howard Hughes on us and pulling a gun out on Smithers, insisting he get inside his small model plane. Homer telling Lisa that there may be a “Boogeyman or Boogeymen in the house.” Marge getting home to find a shotgun shell had blasted through the door, with Homer nervously peering over a turned over sofa with said shotgun. Cat jumping out of a hat and absolutely demolishing Millhouse’s face.

No, I stopped watching years ago when I stopped finding the show to be funny.

The episode that lept to mind was Simpson and Delilah.

It contains the greatest Burns quote ever: “Let the fools have their tar-tar sauce.”

And Karl.

(Harvey Fierstein gives one of the best guest star performances on the Simpsons. Plus, if Wiki is to be believed, the first male/male romantic kiss in television history.)

The Brother from Another Series

I guess I just have a thing for guys named Cecil.

Hands down.

Do we really need to continue this thread?

Not seen much since 9-11.
Homer is at the top of his game in this episode.

Second vote for “Australia”.

The porno mag, the penguin, “'ey proime ministah”, knifey-spoony, homer crying at the toilet, be-eer, “it’s pretty big”. . .an endless string of jokes and visual gags, Bart and Homer at their best.

My favorite, hands down, is “Homer Badman”. Straight through, a classic episode. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go live under the sea (there’ll be no accusations, only friendly crustaceans).

My Favourite is Homer at the Bat.

Homer: You play right field? I play right field. Are you better than me?
Daryl Strawberry: Well, I don’t know you, but yes.

It may sound trite, but Weekend at Burnsie’s (Homer is prescribed medical marijuana after birds peck his eyes to get at his sweet, sweet eye juice) made me laugh the hardest.

I don’t memorize Simpson’s episodes, but the one line I do recall that cracked me up was Lisa saying, “Can’t talk…comin’ down…”

Damn you, Rodgers, damn you- if you’d said “top 3,” I could’ve done this blindfolded. Since people are picking Cape Feare left and right, I’ll go with my original favorite episode: Homer vs. the 18th Amendment.

Rex Banner: “I’ll get you, Beer Baron…”
Homer [faintly]: “No you won’t!”
Banner: “Yes, I will.”
Homer: “…won’t!”

Banner is a great character, and Dave Thomas does a great job with the role.

I still love “Bart The Daredevil” better known as “The Truckasaurus Episode”.
It had Truckasaurus and Homer’s classic leap over the Springfield Gorge.

Homer’s simple surprised line, “I’m Going to make it” THUD. A second season Gem.

Jim

Seconded.

I’m sorry, but you are all incorrect.

The greatest Simpson’s episode is when Lisa becomes a vegetarian. So many classic moments.

[ul]
[li] The Flanders family reunion and Homer’s indignation at not being invited.][/li][li] The beef industry educational film.[/li][li] “You don’t win friends with sal-AD!”[/li][li] “Sure Lisa, some wonderful, magical animal!!”[/li][li] “The extra b is for BYOBB” “What’s that extra b for?” “That’s a typo”[/li][li] Homer messing up who he isn’t talking to at the breakfast tale[/li][li] The crowd laughing at Lisa’s gazpacho “Go back to Russia!”[/li][li] Burns’s “When pigs fly!”[/li] And so many, many, more![/ul]

My favorite has been Bart’s Friend Falls in Love (the episode where Milhouse goes after the new girl at school). I’ve always thought it was one of the more sophisticated episodes in terms of the interweaving story lines of Bart vs. Milhouse and Homer’s subliminal vocabulary-building program, topped off with the awesome Indiana Jones opening sequence.

“Don’t worry, they’ll forget…just like they forgot about me in that tiger cage for 18 agonizing months…every night I wake up screaming… Well! Let’s meet your classmates!”
