Your reaction to this short video

That’s all. Just wondering your reaction.

I loved it! And I agree with the sentiment. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, but I believe this is very true.

I’ll just be smiling over here…

Sort of reminded me of this scene:

Meh. But then, I’ve been in a bad mood lately.

Didn’t it help you out of the bad mood, even for a minute?

A brief description, please?

I drink RC.

Video quick recap: A guy on a train starts laughing. This induces mirth in the fellow passengers. Somehow supposed to sell Coke.
My take: As opposed to reality where people would inch away from the crazy person.

in general we don’t like OPs that are nothing more than a link and command to “read this” or “watch this” something and comment. This thread has got some legs, though, and I’d rather not close it. It’s apparent the video is harmless fun, so I’ll let this thread live.

However, I think I will move it over to MPSIMS.

Lame. Went on for far too long. Knowing that it was an advert meant I was already jaded going in, of course. Was this meant to be Coke’s answer to Pepsi’s Kardashian debacle? :dubious:

OP here.

Thanks IvoryTowerDenizen.

And to the others that bring up Coke. That doesn’t matter.
I personally think it’s GREAT to see someone laugh. It definitely is contagious, imo. I love to see other people happy. That’s my take on it.
Here it is for people who don’t want to see it as a Coke ad. Laughter on the subway - YouTube

During most of the video I thought of what would happen in the DC Metro and how unrealistic it was. People here would just ignore the guy or, like me, be annoyed.

Then, surprisingly, right at the end I got something in my eye. Not sure how to take that.

Not especially, but this has been going on for a little while.

Laughter is contagious; I can imagine it happening that way. The fact that he’s fake laughing and it’s really an advertising stunt goes to show how easily people are manipulated.

It’s cute, but there’s definitely a culture difference. Laugh like a maniac on the CTA and folks will think you’re nuts or possibly tell you to shut the fuck up.

 A video staged with actors for a Coke ad is no longer just a fake-emotion commercial, if someone just edits the ending?

Terrible, but coke ads usually are.

For those like me that use mass transit every day, I would have assumed he was just another drunk passenger trying to get attention. And if he was in an NJ Transit “quiet car”, I would have feared for his life.

Dude! That’s what Coke causes in a person! Loved it!

Cloying bullshit, like so much advertising.

Life is too short to waste on watching such crap. Do you like listening to telemarketers, too? At bottom, it’s no different. They think you’re an idiot, if they believe you will identify with this.
