You're a billionaire. Which show would you bring back?

First things first, if I had a billion dollars to blow I’d buy the New York Yankees and agree on a salary cap for major league baseball that would allow the Pirates and the Royals to compete fairly with the Yankees.

If I have to spend my bucks resurrecting a TV show then I’d revive Due South. The first two seasons of this show were great. After that, I’d do Homicide, Firefly and Angel.

thirtysomething. I’m still ticked that ABC pulled the plug on this show right when Gary was killed off (!). Though I suppose fiftysomething wouldn’t be as appealing.

I’d bring back Twilight Zone, but I would want it done right. None of this crappy twist-you-see-coming-a-mile-away junk. Real quality Twilight Zone, the way it should be.

The exact same thing happened to me. In fact, it was questions I had about Serenity that brought me back to the board after a long hiatus.

Oh, absolutely, although that might be its own entertaining thread. Like have the creative team behind The Shield go back and do some ultra-violent Magnum P.I. epidodes. “Higgins, Lady Ashley’s pussy tastes like sweet butter.”

Strangers with Candy

Weekday Wings with sir peter ustinov narrating

I’d like to see Wonderfalls get another chance. I’d make sure it was picked up on cable though – it never belonged on network TV.

Although I loved Buffy and Angel, I think both shows ran their course and ended well. I’d love to see a return of Firefly, but I’d settle for just about anything as long as Joss Whedon was writing and directing.

As much as I love Northern Exposure, I would not try to resurrect it. It had a good 5-year run before Rob Morrow left, plus it’s been off the air for over 10 years – Peg Phillips died and the original cast has aged significantly. It just couldn’t work anymore. :frowning:

Oh. I thought Junkyard Wars had been. Of course, it would help if I had cable, and could check regularly. As it is, I just check the TV when I’m bored at a friend’s or my parents’ and haven’t seen it in ages. I’d checked in the local TV guide thing, but no luck - so I’d gotten the impression it was gone. sob

If it’s not gone, I’ll have to work on using my googlefoo to find out when it’s playing locally.

I’d bring back good Saturday morning cartoons.

Gummi Bears
Pirates of Darkwater
Ducktales
Rescue Rangers
Ghostbusters
Transformers
Montana Max

I miss my childhood :frowning:

I’ll second Joan of Arcadia and NYPD Blue. Each of them had a lot more story left to tell.

Then there are two short-lived shows that no one else has ever heard of (I’d even settle for DVDs of the episodes that were made):

Bull
Breaking News

Ahem. The Real Ghostbusters, if you please.

I think I still have a VHS tape with an episode or two around somewhere, and maybe the Halloween special. I’m not sure I still have a working VCR, mind you…

Farscape, original cast, crew and directors

How much money do you have? :dubious:

The Straight Dope

Oh, hell yes…with Peter Woodward as a space-wizard? No question.

I could always hire him or Gary Cole to replace Bakula for Enterprise, too.

If I were a billionaire, I’d bring back The Millionaire. Wouldn’t want to be outranked by my show, y’see.

I’ve got a severe hankering for new episodes of The Venture Brothers. I’d also like to see some more Courage, the Cowardly Dog, Powerpuff Girls, and Samurai Jack.

Max Headroom

You know new Venture Brothers eps are on the way, right?

I’d say Serenity, mainly because it was such a short run.

MST3K for longer-running shows.

Sam & Max, Freelance Police for toons, with an evening cable spot so Steve Purcell doesn’t have to tone down for the Saturday AM crowd.

From my childhood:
The Munsters
Underdog
Ultraman

I’ll probably think of more…

I’ll second Max Headroom.

Red Dwarf

…since the movie will never be made… :frowning:
