Yuengling Black and Tan porter beer - How does it rate?

Yuengling–the beer so powerful, it makes the hamsters drop OPs!
And pretty good, IMHO, even though I preferred to make them myself out of Bass and Guinness back when I still drank them.

I like Yuengling’s Black and Tan, although I think Mississippi Mud is superior in both taste and texture. I also like Saranac Black and Tan.

Oh my god…I, JUST last night, finally got the courage to go for the Black and Tan over the Traditional Lager. Man, that’s a hell of a beer. All the quality of the Lager, but with more…more something. More good, anyway.

Mind, I don’t have much to compare it to, other than a taste of Guiness when I was 16. I’ve only been legal for a month, and before that, my friends’ idea of “high class beer” was Busch instead of Busch Light.

It’s called FLAVOR young man.

And welcome to the wonderful world of beer. You’ve got a long road ahead of you and you’re starting out on the right foot. Seek out the different, the unusual, the unpopular and you’ll find the best. You’ve already gone beyond the tasteless, boring, brand name swill that passes for beer, so you’re one step ahead of your peers. In fact, there’s no turning back now. But I guess you already know that.

P.S. - If anybody knows where I can find Sam Adams - Cream Stout in Chicago PLEASE let me know.

Sure wish I could get Yuengling in the south. :frowning:

I had the black and tan on draft yesterday at the pub, and it was even better than out of the bottle. Find yourself a bar that stocks it, and drink up. Truly a quality brew.

Yuengling also makes a porter that the black and tan is then mixed from. Excellent.

They also have an ale that is very good, if not quite a traditional ale.

Oh man, I’m a huge Yuengling fan, and especially the black and tan. It’s a real close call between that and a Bass and Guinness.
