Otto and Baker, we put it off for financial and other reasons, but last month we decided to go ahead and do it before December. (We’re now in a much better state financially.)
It should be fun, though I’m still nervous. I’m especially glad and proud that our commitment will be recognized as marriage and nothing less, after a good part of each of our lives (especially Jer’s) feeling that in many camps we’ve been looked upon as second-class. The minister asked us last week how political (if at all) we wanted the ceremony to be, and I hesitated. Upon some reflection, I think we might crank that side up a tiny notch.
But so far everyone we’ve dealt with in the various planning aspects has been totally accepting and even cool: our banker, the saleslady at the jewelry store, the staff at the tailor’s, the girls at the gift registry, the help at the restaurant, and of course our friends. It’s been very heartening.

The cruise will be a blast. I got back from one two weeks ago. It is non-stop food. Be sure to eat in the dining room every night. The food is excellent and the service is unreal! They just fall all over themselves waiting on you. The shows ain’t so bad either.
