CNN is reporting that Yvonne DeCarlo has died at the age of 84.
I didn’t realize that she was in The 10 Commandments.

Yvonne De Carlo and Carlo Ponti
Will Death rest before it’s a carload of Carloes?
Maybe Death checked his tank and was a car low.
Darn, darn, darn!
RIP dear Lily.
I swear my parents told me she was dead like 35 years ago.
Probably confused with Carolyn Jones who played Morticia Adams
I’ve only seen her in one movie - The Captain’s Paradise, where she starred opposite Alec Guinness, and darned near stole the movie from him. She was a good actress and an exotic beauty. I’m sorry she’s gone.
Thanks for the tip! My company will get together some photos and get a quick obit out. How’s this? I had to keep it real short and snappy:
84 huh? Depending on which source you believe, she may have been the same age as her TV dad, the wonderful Grandpa Al Lewis who just died within the year. I loved Grandpa Al
Check out this old pic of her hanging out with Jimmy Stewart in the late '40’s. She was quite a looker.
Oh, and I forgot - she was also in Mclintock, another film in which she delivered a fine comedic performance.
One of the most touching things I ever saw her do on The Munsters was sit down at a harp and play and sing Shenandoah.
I had the feeling that she was the actual harpist in that performance. Does anybody know if I was right?
My obit doesn’t go out till tomorrow, and now I hear she died on the 8th, not the 10th–gotta double check in the morning. Poor old soul–had a stroke ten years ago and has probably been wasting away in a nursing home all these years. Wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy’s dog.
Maybe I could do a dual obit of Yvonne De Carlo Ponti.
She was awesome–smoldering–alongside Burt Lancaster in Criss Cross. After seeing her in that, I make sure to TiVo every appearance she makes on TCM.
She was also an uncredited bit player in So Proudly We Hail, one of my favorite Noble WWII Nurses sagas. I think this is the one were Veronica Lake gives a whole new meaning to the word “bazoom.”
Eve, go ahead on and give her some Femme Fatale points, to balance out that caked-on make-up Munster thing, hmm?
I wouldn’t describe Lily Munster as “green-faced” but then again I thought Mara was blue.
o/ Good times and bum times, I've seen 'em all and, my dear, I'm still here. Plush velvet sometimes, Sometimes just pretzels and beer, But I'm here. I've run the gamut. A to Z. Three cheers and dammit, C'est la vie. I got through all of last year And I'm here. Lord knows, at least I was there, And I'm here! Look who's here! I'm still here! o/
Ms. DeCarlo was the original Carlotta in Sondheim’s Follies
Yeah, another of my favorite YdeC moments. In one of my favorite entries in one of my favorite subgenres: WWII movies about lady soldiers (fave entry: Cry Havoc).
This has been all over the local radio today. I hear that she had a thing with Howard Hughes. Not bad for one of our own!
For some of us, she’ll always be remembered as Moses’s wife in DeMille’s THE TEN COMMANDMENTS.
