So how’s everyone doing out there?
This is my baby so I wanna make sure it’s going ok.

I got mine two days ago and I’m ashamed to admit that I threw away the packaging before I looked at who sent them!!
But, the mysterious book elf sent me three awesome looking books!
One is called Blood Light and is a collection of horror stories, which is wicked cool because I love collections of horror stories.
The second is called Tales from the End of Time and this looks really cool too! It actually reminds me of one of my favorite books, The Exploits of Ebenezum, which had 3 books in one.
The third has me most intrigued, it’s Nostrilia by Cordwainer Smith and…sweet! I know who sent them! A note from rjk just fell out of the book! Thank you!!!..it looks really good and I have a feeling will lead to me reading more of Smith’s books.
As far as my own mailing…well, I was all ready to send it out last week but I didn’t have a chance to get to the PO. Then I was going to send it on Monday but realized I had another book I wanted to send, which followed the same theme as the first book I decided on. Only problem - I hadn’t read it yet. :smack: So, either today or early tomorrow, depending on how long it takes me to finish it (it’s REALLY good), my books will go out in the mail!
Mine went out today. I’m really, really sorry for the delay, but I hope my person likes the books when they do arrive.
Nothing in my mailbox yet, which is actually kind of a relief, since I’d feel really bad if someone sent me stuff fast while I was being a slowpoke
Just as I’m pulling into a spot in front of the PO, I sneeze and feel my front passenger tire go up on the curb. So, I even out a bit to get it off the curb and run in to mail my package. When I come back out about 3 minutes later, there’s a police car, complete with police man in it, parked behind my Jeep and the officer is staring intently at my Jeep. That’s when I notice that my rear passenger tire is also on the curb. So, I start to panic, thinking that I’m about to get my first ever parking ticket for parking on the curb. The officer stares at me as I scoot around him to get in and just as buckle myself in, he pulls out into traffic and leaves me behind.
Whew!
So, the point of that story is that my books are on their way (media mail so it might be up to a week for delivery and don’t be surprised if your package looks like it’s been opened because apparently they inspect media mail packages) and I didn’t get a parking ticket.
I am about to leave the house to post my package. Sorry for the delay, and I don’t want to make you listen to a sob story on all the reasons for it. It’s going west from Kansas, so if you live in that direction all I can say is, have hope!
Woohoo! My package arrived from Sir T-Cups! I can’t believe I was the honored one who was specifically chosen. (I’m not worthy!!) I got Crazy Sista Cooking (autographed by the author) Cuisine and Conversation with Lucy Anne Buffett (Forward by Jimmy Buffett) from Lulu’s at Homeport Marina, Gulf Shores, Alabama! (Whew, that was a mouthful!)
I also got a Mad Libs birthday card. Here’s how my Mad Lib worked out:
Dearest Amanda, Happy birthday to the most red weather in the whole wide dog! I hope all your mice come true on the wavy day. May your year be filled with joy and eggs. I hope you know how proud I am of what a/an crazy class you have become. I can hardly believe you are turning 42 years old! My how the books have flown. I hope you spend your special day doing something what will make your feel happy. With any luck you’ll get that newfangled computer you’ve been saving for! Happy birthday my darling glass! Hugs and iPads, your friend Sir T-Cups.
Thank you so much!
Well you said you collected cookbooks, and you said down south…so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get you the best of both worlds. I really hope you like it.
BTW: I want to end every e-mail I ever send now “hugs and ipads”
My person got some of their books and hasn’t said anything. Err…
I got books! So my gifter doesn’t have to worry about the address issue anymore.
There are four books. Three are a trilogy titled, collectively, The Alien Chronicles, it is, according to the summaries on the back of the books, about a master race and the race it rules. It spans quite a period of time. Just what I need for the upcoming holiday weekend.
The fourth book is Dachshunds for Dummies. I mentioned I like dachshunds, being in servitude to one, and so now I have this great book. I’m sure Nathan, my master, will have a few things to say too!
Thank you, thank you, thank you to my sender. I don’t see the name in the boxes or on the return address.
I included a gift note!
Damn. Those were from me. I looked at previous posts and thought you may like Alien Chronicles.
Also..you have two more on the way, but they weren’t Prime sellers. Had to go the Az route.
I just mailed mine today. I ordered one from Amazon and it finally came, so I mailed it with a few others I was thinking of sending.
I have received my book and sent mine out.
I just got two more books from Farmer Jane!
One is a fabulous cookbook titled Colorado Collage, from the Junior League of Denver. It’s absolutely gorgeous, with many recipes illustrated by yummy pictures.
And the other book is…
OMG, OMG, OMG a hardback copy of Dies the Fire, by S.M. Stirling. I’ve been searching for that forever. I have all the rest of the series so far in hardback, but I couldn’t find a copy of this one in hardcover.
Farmer Jane, you sent too much! I sent you books but they weren’t nearly as impressive. You are an A Number One book exchange partner! I should send you some cookies or something.
I received my book from Arrogance Ex Machina today in a pretty envelope with (many many) cute stamps ^_^. Game of Thrones! Thank you, I look forward to reading it!
Shucks! Amazon rocks…plus I got to shop in my underwear! I do love cookies, but really, no worries. I got the best Santa gifts this year and felt bad that Sir T-Cups didn’t get oodles of things, so I just went with that. Plus your list was easy. A book on dogs? Uh, Dummies. You need an out of print hardcover? Amazon used. Cookbook? Well, I live in Colorado and I LOVE our Jr. League books! Sci Fi…I’m hoping you like the Alien Chronicles. I saw you liked Star Wars (yay, search) and it’s kind of in the Star Wars universe. Also I saw where you were building your religious library and I thought the trilogy was the best ‘Passover’ story ever.
So…you’re welcome. And I had fun.
Whee!
Big delay on my part – the books I am sending to my correspondent go out today. In my discharge, I should say that I was away from the country until, like, right now!
(It looks like my earlier post didn’t go through, so here it is again, more or less.)
I just got mine!
Mahaloth sent The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman, a fantasy/adventure novel. I have seen it around, and thought it looked good, but never picked it up. Now I’ll just have to find some time to read it. Thanks!
I still have to get my package off to my recipient … tomorrow to the post office, most assuredly.
AND I got a huge box of books from the fabulous Emily Litella! I mean an embarrassment of riches. Thank you very much, dear heart. (To my surprise the package was not postmarked from Fort Lee, New Jersey.)
