#2 Oregon trailing unranked Arizona - 3rd quarter

The Ducks’ Superman, Dennis Dixon aka Vince Young Lite, went out early in the game. Ryan freakin’ Leaf’s brother is in at QB for the Ducks. Arizona’s D is having its way with Oregon, though they put together a sustained drive at the end of the first half… and came away with 3 points!

I guess nobody wants to play LSU for the national championship. And what does this mean for Kansas and Hawaii, who are still undefeated?

Oooooooh…so that’s who they were interviewing on the sideline. Hasn’t the Leaf family suffered enough? Well, stay tuned…still 5 minutes left for 'zona to blow this.

It shouldn’t effect Hawaii. Oregon will probably remain ranked above them. It’s huge for Kansas though. One less team they’ll have to climb over.

I remember the last time I was in that stadium. 1992 versus #1 Washington. My friend had polio so we got to sit front row at the goal line. As time counted down we were pushed strongly by the kids behind us trying to get onto the field so I helped him over and we hung out at the goal line and watched them tear the goal posts down.

Damn, they better watch those kids on the field. Anyway looks like it’s sealed now.

Woo Hoo!
I like it from Oklahoma’s perspective too!

This made my day.

Looks like the Big 12 Champ will play for the title for sure. Crazy season.

Oklahoma is not that big a surprise. But what if it’s Kansas or Missouri?
Go Big Eight!
(I say as a disgraced Husker fan).

That loss just raised the stakes in the Big 12 mightily.

Nov 24th, Kansas hosts Missouri. That’s going to be HUGE!

Oklahoma can’t look past T. Tech this weekend (though that should be a win).

Then, Oklahoma plays Ok St, who really should have beat Texas. They’re no pushovers.

Big 12 championship should be for the right to play in the national championship game. What would happen if that game gave Kansas 1 loss, and Oklahoma went with two losses?

I didn’t think it was possible for there to be a worse QB named Leaf than Ryan, but at least Ryan had a good college career. Watching brother Brady last night made me really feel bad for the guy, and really wonder why he has a scholarship to a top football school- he was truly awful last night.

LSU still has to play a good team in the SEC Championship - that is no guaranteed win considering how they’ve been playing lately. They could easily be 5-4 right now if not for some really fortunate plays.

It is certainly huge, but it is at a neutral site, Arrowhead Stadium, not in Lawrence.

Did not know that. Kansas is listed as the home team.

I’ll assume there will be a pretty even distribution of fans. Wow. I hope they both win this weekend, or that game gets a lot less interesting.

Like if OU drops one of the two last regular season games, but whips an undefeated KU in San Antonio?

Hmmm… Then I’d have to say West Virginia goes to the big show (if they win out) as it’s hard for me to justify sending a two loss team or a team that didn’t win the conference.

Am I the only one who keeps misreading the OP title as referring to the Oregon Trail?

Nope, I thought this was going to be about the game Oregon Trail.

My dreams have died of cholera.

Strictly for purposes of determining who has to wear white. The Big 12 Championship is always in Kansas City.

No. KU and UM are playing a regular season game in KC. Sometimes the Big 12 championship is in KC; this year it is in San Antonio on December 1.

Holy crap. Another #2 bites the dust.

I have a personal stake in this…if the Pac-10 had 2 BCS teams (NC + Rose Bowl, likely ASU), then my Cal Bears would have likely gone to the Sun Bowl in beautiful downtown El Paso, and I would’ve been forced to follow them.

With only one Pac team in the BCS, we get pushed down to the Emerald Bowl – right here in my backyard. Woohoo!

(And the Pac 10 loses out on $14 million, but who cares…)

And thus my ignorance goes down like a…well, like a wounded Duck seems appropriate.

They’d just blow it all in Vegas on hookers and slot machines, anyway.

Ya know, I was doing the same kind of mental gymnastics all night long as well. Couldn’t decide if I wanted the Ducks to win or not, and what would be better for MY team. But it all depends on next week and other games and blah blah blah.

In the end, I had another beer and said, “Who cares”.

I still hate LSU and think they should have at least 3 losses. Lucky bastards.
