2010 NFL Draft Thread: April 22nd - 24th

Great pick. I know they got Jason Smith last year, but I really like Saffold, and you can never have too many good tackles.

3 (35) Buccaneers - Brian Price, DT, UCLA

This guy sure looks pretty good on tape, and of course he’s a Pac-10 guy. He’ll go next to McCoy and wreak some havoc.

Trenches, FTW!

I think I put Brian Price on my “your guys” list. I think he’ll be a washout.

And the weirdness continues on day 2.

I have the feeling the Browns are going to be able to choose between Clausen and McCoy. They’ll pick McCoy… and probably regret it down the road.

This is an odd second round. There goes McCluster.

4 (36) Chiefs -Dexter McCluster, RB, Ole Miss

I’m loving the ESPN guys arguing over Clausen. Dynamic guy for the AFC West, he can play in a variety of positions, including special teams. I would have liked him on my team.

If Deon likes the kid, that’s enough for me to think he’ll be nothing more than a good special teams player.

Hey, I think his aunt broke him with that hug.

McCluster…did not see that one coming.

So Weis passes on two Notre Dame players that he knows well. Does that say something profound?

Uh…what? I’m a Chiefs fan and an Irish fan. I’m not sold on either Jamaal Charles or Matt Cassel - but really? Jimmy’s certainly better than Croyle. If you’re going for a need, go for a need - RB is not a need right now.

How I would laugh if Reid picks Jimmy Claussen with the “McNabb Pick”.

Well, they’re paying Cassel like $10m/year, right? Were they supposed to dump him for Clausen?

The Chiefs should have drafted Benn there.

So? You can’t have too many quarterbacks these days.

Here goes Nate Allen. Maybe Taylor Mays.

I liked McCluster when I saw him (not that the Bills needed to take him after getting Spiller). I think he’s going to turn out well. Meanwhile Philly gets… Nate Allen.

5 (37) Eagles - Nate Allen, S, S. Florida

This is the pick the Eagles got for dealing McNabb. I could have seen them go with Toby Gerhart. My picks for the 49ers goes out the window. This guy will improve their defense, that’s for sure. I heard one or two people rate Allen higher than Earl Thomas.

I don’t think so, the draft at this point is so much about schemes and needs and availability of a position. I wouldn’t read too much into it.

Philly “fans” are a joke.

BTW, I am loving watching this on my NFL app on my droid phone. Works wonderfully.
