Eric Decker to the Broncos, that’s actually an awesome pick for them. He’s a star.
23 (87) Broncos - Eric Decker, WR, Minnesota.
Still waiting for my guys Eric Norwood and Akwasi Owusu-Ansah to go. Too bad the Packers traded away their 4th round pick.
Patriots on the clock. They could really use some more picks - they better trade down!
ETA: I was being sarcastic, Belichick!! :smack:
24 (88) Cardinals - Andre Roberts, WR, The Citadel.
Omni, I’ll betcha that Roberts outperforms Decker over the next 3 years.
And he qualifies for the all-name team.
I’d take that bet, but frankly it probably would be more a bet on the QBs than the WRs. Who’s going to flop less, Leinart or the Orton/Quinn/Tebow pupu platter.
Damn, all of the WRs I liked for the Rams are gone now. Still some DEs I like so they can fill that need in round 4.
25 (89) Panthers - Armanti Edwards QB/WR, Appalachian State
26 (90) Patriots - Taylor Price, WR,
27 (91) 49ers - Navorro Bowman, OLB, Penn State
garygnu will be thrilled with the 49ers pick.
I think Mayock is losing his voice. That could be the best part of this draft.
We could do a career bet, but it could be another decade until that one is resolved. How about a nice bottle of scotch over who has a better career Decker or Roberts. After a couple years when Roberts is going to the Pro Bowl and Decker is blowing goats in Tijuana, we can resolve it then.
They just said that the Panthers gave away their 2nd round pick next year to grab the Patriots 3rd this year to get Armanti Edwards. Not a fan.
Good enough. Rumor has it he’s more of a donkey show kinda guy though.
28 (92) Browns - Shawn Lauvao, OT/OG, Arizona State.
Great pick for the Browns … if it were the 6th Round that is.
29 (83) Chiefs - Tony Moeaki, TE, Iowa
30 (84) Colts - Kevin Thomas, CB, USC
Are we in the 6th round?
31 (95) Saints - Jimmy Graham, TE, Miami
He’s got UPSIDE!!!
Maybe I’ll be able to do the Bruce Campbell dance all over again tomorrow if things keep going this way.
The Bears also need depth at CB and that position just got devoured in the 3rd round. If both Campbell and Johnson are gone next time around it’ll be bleak.
Fuck, I jinxed it.
They seem to love doing that shit. Last year they gave away this year’s 1st Rounder (which turned out to be the 17th overall pick) to San Fran in exchange for the 43rd overall pick (Everette Brown) and a 4th Rounder. When you play that game you give up wayyyy too much equity to come out ahead in the long run.
32 (96) Bengals (Compensatory selection) - Brandon Ghee, CB, Wake Forest
33 (97) Titans (Compensatory selection) - Rennie Curran, LB, Georgia
34 (98) Falcons (Compensatory selection) - Mike Johnson, OG, Alabama
Bengals make a great pick; Ghee needs a bit of work, but he has Hall and Joseph to learn from. Not a need, but great value.
That’s it for Round 3.
This has been a damn surprising draft. There is a bunch of talent still available (I am really surprised that Bruce Campbell, Everson Griffen, Eric Norwood are still around). And I was shocked to see some of the names that were called this early. At this rate, there should be some nice talent available in the latter round for the Packers.
Of course they’ll all be gone before the Bears pick. This bites.
Edwards played right up the road from the Panthers and is something of a local hero after leading App State to 2 DII titles. Can he play in the NFL, and was he worth that trade? Not sure at all, but he’s a very good athlete and I can see him as a special teams/slot receiver. Still seems like an awful lot for next years’ 2.
