Aaaaand there goes Norwood to the Panthers. With the exception of that stupid 3rd round reach, I like their draft.
You ever get the feeling your talking to yourself?

So lets see, the 49ers, in the first three rounds select:
11 Anthony Davis, RT, Rutgers
17 Mike Iupati, LG, Idaho
49 Taylor Mays, SS, USC
91 Navorro Bowman, ILB, Penn State
They traded away #111 from 2009 to move from #43 in 2009 to #17 in 2010. To trade from #13 to #11 they traded away #113. They received #173 and a 4th-Round 2011 pick in dropping down in the third. Adding that all up it’s like getting the #60 pick for free.
They STILL got three 1st Round players and one 2nd Round player.
It’s a little ironic that the linebacker we picked has better coverage skills than the safety we picked, and the safety blitzes better than the linebacker. Bowman was projected as strictly an OLB in a 4-3 scheme, but the Niners will have him eventually play “inside” with Willis, which will be more like middle/outside. Our 3-4 scheme is kind of a hybrid.
I’m just a big fan of getting four maulers.
The 49ers don’t pick again until the 6th Round.
Huh… I have no idea who this guy is that the Colt’s just drafted: Jacques McClendon
And apparently neither does the 2023 NFL Draft - News, Video & Photos | NFL.com team. He’s got no height/weight/ranking info even…
Alright, maybe that means it’s time for me to step away from the Draft and go do some work.
Damn Cardinals. I really wanted the Packers to get O’Brein Schofield in the 5th even, but they got him late in the 4th. If he can recover from his injury, I think he could be a great player in the NFL.
CBS Sports has McClendon listed as #336 on their big board, and the 18th best guard. 6’2" 308lbs. 5.08 in the 40.
Wikipedia is starting to get into players in red text, meaning they don’t have their own Wikipedia entry yet. Who doesn’t have their own Wikipedia entry!?
Yay! The Bengals snagged Roddrick Muckleroy, a very productive Texas LB that can play all three spots and can cover well.
The Bengals are quietly putting together a solid draft. Now go get a safety!
Shows how deep this draft is and/or how crazy teams are being, but both Kam Chancellor and Ricky Sapp I had listed as 3rd Rounders.
Wow, the Cowboys trade down to get anther 6th and still managed to acquire 8 vowels by picking Akwasi Owusu-Ansah. I wonder if they’ll look to go back in time and pick up John Conner with Deon Anderson’s legal issues in round 6.
I had Sapp there, but Chancellor was 5th for me. But I saw very little difference between Dominique Franks, who just went in the 5th, and Patrick Robinson, who was a first round pick.
And I’m begining to think that I want the Packers to get Jonathon Dwyer with one of their 5th round picks.
I over slept and missed the 4t round. This is probably a good thing since I didn’t have to fret over the fate of Campbell and the pain of seeing him come off the board just a few picks before the Bears. Him going to Oakland is just perfect but just about everyone is amazed that it took 4 rounds to get there.
I am pretty happy with Wooten. Last night I was scanning the available players and looking for options should Campbell be gone. Guys I liked were Mike Williams, Everson Griffen, Corey Wooten and Akwasi Owusu-Ansah. I think Akwasi Owusu-Ansah would have been my first choice but Wooten has upside and fills a need.
I’m glad Kafka went this early, I was going to say that I hoped the Bears drafted him in the 7th round as a developmental QB to succeed Culter if he doesn’t get his attitude and INTs under control. Him lasting that long was probably a pipe dream, but it’s amazing that Philly took him. It’s almost like the “Kolbed” Kevin Kolb. Smart move I think. I hope John Skelton lasts long enough for the Bears to grab him late for the same reasons, it’s probably impossible that he’ll make it that far and the Bears have never been the type of organization to develop QBs so I’m probably dreaming.
For the next Bears pick I’m hoping Jonathan Dwyer get to the and to fill a need a OG Dace Richardson from Iowa is probably the only option but with his injury issues I’d rather they get him in the 6th.
There goes garygnu’s Wang.
Nice pick for the Bills, they really need help at OT.
Now we’ll see if Selvish does indeed caper.
Meh, we needed a CB but I don’t like Joshua Moore that much. They’d have been better off going with Akwasi Owusu-Ansah back in round 4 and scrounged for a DE here.
I actually like what the Seahawks did here to address the RB position. It’s a temporary fix but it’s a pretty solid idea I think.
Man, late CB run.
I’m not seeing any OLB’s I like here (Perry Riley?), and the CB run has dried that up (although I wouldn’t mind David Pender and Donovan Warren would work), so I’m rooting for Jonathon Dwyer for the Packers. And even though we got Bulaga, I’d like to grab Capers with their compensatory pick.
I think the Titans got a nice pick with Robert Johnson. Keep him away from the Crossroads, and I think he could be a starter in the NFL.
Oh No. A punter has gone. I was hoping the Packers could wait awhile to draft one in the 7th round, but Zoltan (God I love that name) is gone. Matt Dodge is the only other one I have a draftable grade on. I wonder how long TT will wait to grab one, because our Punter situation is really messed up, and has been for awhile.
Ditto for the Pats. I believe the only punter on their roster is a guy who used to play Australian Rules football, and decided one day he wanted to be in the NFL. So it’s either the Australian or the Hungarian for the job.
The Jaguars got a good, small school prospect in Austen Lane. He’s a project, but they really need to develop a DE. Nice pick.
Packers up.
I like that Austen Lane pick here. He’d have been a guy I’d have been pulling for had the Bears waited on a DE.
I wonder if the Bears will look at a second Safety in the 6th if Reshad Jones stays on the board.
There goes Skelton, perfect destination in Arizona for him.
Andrew Quarless, TE, Penn State.
Meh. He does nothing for me, and I’m happy with the work Spencer Havner has done (except that damn DUI issue), so it’s kinda a wasted pick. He has some of that dreaded “upside”, but with more pressing needs (no CB yet? Did you not learn anything from our playoff loss?), it’s kinda stupid.
