Trading down is smart . They have players in mind to draft. If 3 are available when your turn comes, you can trade down 3 spots and still get one you want. But instead of paying no.12 money ,you pay no.18 money. You get the same player cheaper and get lower draft choices for doing it. They are stockpiling 3s now.
When I thought about what surprising thing the Bills might do, I did think of Spiller. I guess they thought he was just too good to pass up even if they had other needs. It makes some sense to me. I guess at least one of the other backs is headed out of town, maybe for another pick.
Yeah I know. McD is following in The Big Hoodie’s footsteps. I understand the strategy, but we need impact players in a big way and I don’t trust our late round drafting ability. I’d rather have a Dez Bryant in the first than three third-rounders.
15 (15) Giants - Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, South Florida
Holy bust, Batman! Allow me to introduce you to SackSEER, everybody.
I really hope everyone was right about Jason Pierre-paul!
Since the ESPN guys keep referring to him by his initials, I have to say the Giants are down with JPP.
Guess my Hawks did pretty good today. On one hand, we got help where we needed it, on the other, it was made a lot easier by the fact there really wasn’t a position we DIDN’T need help at.
I wonder if he is gambling on Dez still being there to replace Marshall. If so I don’t think it’s a good gamble to last that long.
What’s your guess on Tim Tebow’s draft position? I smell panic - I say he goes in the first round, someone trades up. I’ll say pick #28. Minnesota at #30 is a possibility also.
The predictions that Bulaga was going to drop are accurate. It’s less surprising that Claussen has slipped. Any other guys going way down? I think those were the big two.
16 (16) Titans - Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech
That’s a big fall for what I thought was a top-10 pick.
I was personally wondering about the Pats trading down for it. I can see his ego scheming right now to prove his genius by utilizing Tebow well. But 22 is far to early.
Now, the 49ers are up, will they break my heart and pick Clausen? Will they do the smart thing and pick Iupati or Pouncey? Will they pick the next best CB in Kyle Wilson?
AAAAAAAAAUURRRRRGGHHH!
I love this.
Panic? With two higher ranked QBs on the board, one of which is falling past teams that might need a QB? What teams do you think are panicking about not having a QB who’s not ready for the NFL?
17 (17) 49ers - Mike Iupati, G, Idaho
Fuck yeah!!!
I wonder how far Clausen will fall. Maybe the Browns can trade back up into the 20s and take him and repeat the Quinn saga.
Time for Dez Bryant? More headcase WRs!
Iupati was my pick in our mock draft at 13. I feel vindicated, and really, really, really happy.
1st Round O-linemen are almost always solid picks, and right away.

I can’t see him even thinking Dez will be on there that long. Personally, I was hoping he’d just settle and draft him at 13 but since he didn’t, I don’t think he wants him.
18 (18) Steelers - Maurkice Pouncey, C, Florida
Good pick, and one that was predicted by many mock drafts.
19 (19) Falcons - Sean Weatherspoon, LB, Missouri
A bit of a reach, I think, but not bad.
