2015 College Football Omnibus Thread

In perhaps the biggest waste of talent in college football history, former OSU running back Maurice Clarett arrested for DUI. This guy really did piss it all away.

Enforcement of stupid NCAA rules wasted his career.

Good game so far. I think the right two teams are playing.

Yeah this has been a good game so far. I was a little miffed at the sloppy clock keeper on Clemson’s last drive of the half. It’s the bloody National Championship! Get the clock right!

Well, that was a deuce dropped in the punchbowl. Long stinkin’ Alabama touchdown catch to go ahead.

Why would Batman fight Superman?

And when did Superman get minions?

This game is like a bad Deja-Vu of the USC v. Texas championship game years ago, where Vince Young would simply slip away every time you thought he was done for and make the first, extending the drive. Except this time, I’m rooting for this guy!

I’m really hoping Clemson owns the forth quarter.

This is workin’ out pretty good for me so far.

Oh, yaay, I have so been missing the Alabama chest pounding this past year. It has been eerily quiet.

Roll Tide!

crap

That was tough one. Great to see Jake Coker fulfill his childhood dream. Really nice to see Kenyan Drake get that TD after the horrible injury he suffered last year.

I don’t like dynasties in any sport (I’m a big fan of Chaos), so this was about the worst possible outcome to the season. But it was a great game - the onside kick was an incredibly gutsy call - and hats off to Alabama.

The onside kick was not only a gutsy call, but executed to absolute perfection. And that’s why Bama is so good. They’re not only super talented, they’re also very, very well coached.

Most of the time, yes, but Saban has made some really dumb calls in big games in the past. The “Kick 6” against Auburn stands out, along with some really poor choices against Ole Miss the last two years.

That said,

ROLL TIDE!

Sigh. Pretty much nothing in CFB has gone the way I wanted it to since New Year’s Eve. Well, congratulations to the Crimson King and see you all next year. At least it was a good game!

Moving up: Miss St, Florida
Moving out: Bowling Green, UCLA
Just missed out: Bowling Green, Tennessee, Arkansas

So it ends up matching up fairly well with the AP poll in the end. They have Notre Dame a bit and Navy a lot overrated IMO, and my system ranks Mississippi State and USC where they don’t. I can see that, since USC, although they had some impressive wins, did lose six games; maybe I need to tweak the system a bit so that each additional loss hurts a team more than the previous loss. I see I actually end up ranking my Ducks a couple spots lower than the AP.:frowning:

Alright, hope you enjoyed this!

Time for the 2016 preseason poll?

Apparently, it’s never too early.

Never mind. The above is a ridiculously early **2015 **poll, from exactly one year ago. I know I’ve seen the equivalent this year, but can’t seem to find it at the moment.
