2015 College Football Omnibus Thread

Happy New Year, everyone. Congratulations/condolences as appropriate.

I see Boykin has been arrested for assaulting a cop and won’t play against Oregon! Mighty Christian of him.

To be fair, Texas comes first.

That is kind of remarkable. We could always talk about Marcus Mariota some more. That guy was awesome. It was just one year ago today he threw for 2000 yards* and twelve touchdowns* against FSU in the Rose Bowl.

So it appears that the theme for this year’s bowl season is that all the B1G teams win except the two that I care about, who get brutalized by the SEC. Rough. Do you think we should be calling the police for a wellness check on BobLibDem?

Well It looks like this bowl season went fairly well, but the matchups prevented it from swinging too far either way.

The forces of Good(Michigan) crushed their enemies, saw them driven before them and heard the lamentations of the women.
The forces of maximum evil(OSU) defeated the forces of lightly evil(ND)
The forces of moderately evil(BAMA) defeated the forces of maximum stupid(MSU)

and some other games were played.

Like I said last month, Stanford will destroy any team in the country. It was just so obvious to me.

Just in case anyone is wondering about that fifth Stanford touchdown: yes, the “fumblerooski” is still illegal, but it’s not a fumble if the QB never lets go of the ball.

Probably because everyone has their tails between their legs knowing that Christian McCaffrey of Stanford should have won the Heisman.

Don’t worry about BobLibDem… He’ll be back here next year slamming the SEC and praising the Big 10 no matter what happens!

It’s a shame that Stanford wasn’t good enough to be in the playoffs.

It’s not the first time that an inexplicable loss kept a completely dominant team out of the NCG, and it won’t be the last. Stanford did a complete banana peel pie-in-the-face against Oregon, and now we’ll never know how they’d do against Alabama.

It’s been a pretty dismal bowl season from an entertainment standpoint. Of the 30-ish games played so far, I think 4 have been decided by 1 score or less; the average margin of victory is in the 20’s.

I’ll agree with your last point. Can’t think of any really exciting bowls this year.

I am finding the Alamo Bowl quite entertaining!

Who is that in the Alamo Bowl? WC Stripling Middle School?

I’ve always thought that 30 minutes is plenty long enough for a football game.

Oh. My. Fucking. God.

If your ability to enjoy a college football game is dependent on which teams are playing, IMHO, you’re doing it wrong.

Surely Adams has had time to walk it off by now.

The typical game is about 11 or 12 minutes long.

Well, I’m no expert, but I would have kicked a field goal.
