Nangleator, the 24 Club doesn’t watch 24 during the course of the season, but KneadToKnow starts the weekly 24 thread for the rest of us to discuss each week’s episode.
The purpose is to try and control the 24 threads so that members of the 24 Club don’t accidentally read any spoilers.
Me, I can barely get through a Sunday without peeking at the NFL Scores so as not to spoil the Charger game I’m taping at home, let alone get through a whole freakin’ season of 24.
Insanity!
I can hardly wait for the 28th, and anticipate my weekly 24 party like a child waiting for Christmas.
My prediction, btw… Jack will suffer debilitating injuries, but quickly shake them off and be back in fine physical shape by the end of the next hour.
All I can hope is the creators of the show give Kim something more to do besides getting into deep shit and running around with her melons bobbling. The girl can act, for Gesu’s sake!
I’ve read, and I don’t think this is spoiler material, that the makers of 24 would like to make sure Kim is not the butt of countless jokes.
I hope not. She’s part of the fun. Bouncy, bouncy!
ermmmmmm… ummmm… Sorry, Knead, can’t do it! But thanks for starting the rockin’ threads, and I especially like your format of providing the links to the previous threads in each new one.
So no “24” abstaining for me – I’ll be playing in the threads with Troy McClure and Biggirl and MaxCarnage and the others. See you all there in a couple weeks!
The marathon seems like a cool idea, but since where I am 24:3 comes out on TV only about a year after it does in US, I’ll find that my urge to watch it will be irrepressible. Unless I borrow the entire set when it gets released on DVD.
Now, where was I? Ah yes… mm… bouncy, boing-boing…
You can always get it through “other channels” if you know what I mean. I know I don’t feel like waiting around for Pearl and their maddeningly spoilery “trivia questions.” I’ll be watching S3 within days of the US broadcast.
HAH, Pearl’s run by a bunch of morons. They spoil every episode of every series imaginable.
I think I know what you mean (I’m seriously out of the loop on this stuff). I guess I’ll be giving myself no choice but to get it through those “channels.”
Well, I’m not a die hard fan in that I don’t watch the whole thing at once, but I got hooked on Season 2. Thanks to Ford for sponsoring the first episode sans commercials again.
Assuming the schedule is the same, FX shows a given episode Monday at 6pm- six days after its broadcast on FOX, and the night before the next episode is shown.
Also, a spoiler heads-up. Stay away from the 24 issue of TV Guide. No major plot spoilers, but there’s a bunch of character info that I would rather not have known (who’s dating who, who’s working where…).
Ahem. Regarding the popularity of your weekly 24 threads. I appreciate them. I like to know that I can depend on the fact that every new episode to be aired will have an informatively titled thread, just waiting for comment.
Like you, I’ve noticed less participation than in the past. I wonder if it has something to do with the general flakiness of the boards recently.
If you would decide to discontinue the effort, I would understand. But I’d miss them.
Heya, Knead. I’ve noticed the drop in participation, and it could be due to people not wanting to deal with the Board, or interest in the show dropping. Either way, I still think there’s enough interest here to support these threads.
I think that if the “official” threads weren’t around, someone else’d start the threads. God knows I would. 24 is a two hour deal for me- spend an hour watching it, and then come to these threads. True, there are other online 24 communities online, but as with pretty much the rest of the Internet, they ain’t the SDMB.
I’ll second Algernon’s statement, “If you would decide to discontinue the effort, I would understand. But I’d miss them.” However, if you dropped them, I’m sure someone else would pick up the slack. And I haven’t seen anything to imply we’re anything but welcome in CS.
