I always look forward to the regular 24 threads. Not just for just for the plot speculation and joyful kvetching, but I can always depend on someone else to notice when Fox decides to skip a week or three. God knows I don’t until I hear it here.
Mainly for the plot speculation and joyful kvetching, though. It adds another dimension to the show. I doubt that I’d have equated a certain character with Jar Jar independently, for example, and now most of that character’s straight lines fill me with glee. Thanks for that, collectivity of SDMB 24 enthusiasts!
I too blame the drop in posters to the board bugs. I know I’m certainly not posting as much as I used too simply because I hate the waiting. That being said, I do appreciate the well laid out format of the thread opener. If you didn’t create the thread, one of us would, but I know I wouldn’t be linking to all the previous threads, cause I’m just lazy.
So count me in for “I like knowing the thread will be there Tuesday night, but would live if we had to create one.”
Still, there’s that whole possibility of spoilers in the thread title that happened in year one. Though I think by now those of use discussing it here know better. We do have some 24 newbies posting, but they usually post after a few of us have started.
I’m usually on here right after the show, providing that the board isn’t down. The new upgrades are great, though. It’s worth waiting for, just to find people who have such excellent taste in TV.
This year’s regularly scheduled 24 marathon cannot be regularly scheduled. Due to various work and visiting-family-from-out-of-town craziness, yours truly will not be able to marathonize season 3 of 24, but will probably wind up watching 4-6 hours a night spread out over the next week or two.
As usual, anyone who wishes to undertake a true marathon will be eligible for full membership in the 24 Club.
Thanks to all the clubbers and the entire membership of the SDMB for once again patiently putting up with the silliness that is the 24 Club and its members. It’s hard for me to believe sometimes that this is 3 years in a row we’ve (mostly, anyway) staved off significant spoilage of what has been, IMHO, one of the most imminently spoilerable shows on TV in a while.
It ain’t the board. I know a lot of people have similar experiences to yours, but I’ve found the board to be almost always fast since the new software was finalized a few months ago. It’s nothing like it used to be.
You do realize, don’t you, that the post you’re quoting from Maxwas posted several months ago? (that would be before the new software being finalized). Since then, I’m finding the boards nice and fast, too. And I’ve also noticed that participation in the 24 threads has picked up. (Although they still are not as long lasting as the threads from season 2).
